Meerkats no longer in Pangani Forest

First of all, please stop calling them deer, they are antelope.

Second of all I heard a rumor a while back that since the 11 Grant's Zebras are living on the Safari, that the 2 Grevy's Zebras might take over the old Gerenuk habitat. No idea if it's happening, just something I heard through the grapevine. I can't see how that would affect the Meerkat habitat though, so sadly I have no information about that.

Thank you for clarifying that gerenuks are NOT deer but antelope. I was about to post that but you beat me to the punch. In fact, there are NO deer species native to Africa.

Also, that's interesting about the Grevy's zebras possibly moving into the gerenuk exhibit. I didn't think that the exhibit was large enough to hold 2 zebras (especially since the Grevy's zebra is the largest of the subspecies). Perhaps they're planning on expanding the exhibit? If that's the case, the meerkats would probably be relocated until the construction is complete.

There was a medical concern, but all is well. They are taking some time to relax, and will be back in the near future.
Thank you for the information. Is there any update on the Gerenuks or Storks?

Also, have the Gazelle's officially been moved from Kilimanjaro Safaris to AKL?

I don't think the gerenuk's were really made for FL weather. Not sure where the particular storks are, but they were relocated.

Do you know if the zebras might go in the back?

Random question, in the Oasis on the right side there's a vacant exhibit. Do you know of any animals going there?

There is a very good chance the meerkats will be going away and replaced with a lion exhibit similar to the one at Edge of Africa.

I thought the rule was we weren't allowed to see lions in the animal kingdom. I hate that the meerkats and gerenuks have gone away but ultimately this would make sense.
