Let me guess, they're in the movie for 2 min of it's 2.5 hour run time?
Reports are that their presence is significant, especially compared to the deep-background, blink-and-you'll-miss them previous appearances.

I'll let you know for sure about 1 AM tonight!!

And it turns out that the Q representation is legit.

Thought the movie was excellent. Lots of things that critics don't like about superhero movies are actually covered here. No idea why they didn't like it.

But not at WDW? (They seem to be able to use Eternals there)

Here's what DHS gets...

"For a limited time, you can get a glimpse of scenes from “Eternals” for an in-park experience that also features a display of some of the original costumes used in the production of the film. How cool is that? At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, it’s part of the Walt Disney Presents attraction, while guests at Disney California Adventure park can check it out at the Sunset Showcase Theater in Hollywood Land."

Curious to see how long this takes to get to Disney+

Shang-Chi, despite its success, is only going to have a little over two months between opening day and "free" on Disney+.

3 months has been the average so far, though some like Jungle Cruise have been longer than that.

All depends on the box office. It would be nice to have it by Christmas, but that's also a time when movies can rack up dollars. If it has completely faded by then, then maybe it will be out. If it is still doing "okay" money, it will stay in theaters.

Saw Eternals in Dolby Cinema. It was good, maybe a little slow, but well worth the money. I’m looking forward to the future.

$71 million. Not bad, but could have been $90-$100 mill if not for RT.

To avoid this? Don't release ANY early press screenings! Don't lift the review embargo 2 weeks before release. Don't EVER be overconfident! Do what happened with Aladdin and lift the embargo the day of release. Then when both a low RT score appears at the same time as a very high audience score, the high audience will be the one that catches attention.

Forget the critics and their privileged early screenings.

BUT, with this movie, there's much more going on that just some displeased critics. Not sure what it is, but there's definitely something wrong with the way it was reviewed and the way the scores just kept going lower and lower.

I think even if the embargo had lifted on Sunday, Oct. 31 the overall performance of the movie would be better. But there was almost two weeks of constant negative headlines BEFORE the movie even came out and people quickly took sides to either hate on or defend the movie before they had even seen it.

While I do think a lot of people legitimately disliked the film, I also think critics are suffering from MCU fatigue. When they saw the initial mixed reactions from the premier they took the opportunity to pounce. There was blood in the water and this was the perfect opportunity to vent out all of their anger toward Marvel Studios and its dominance over the moviegoing market.

Exactly. Remember, the initial headlines on the internet were pretty positive. Then when the score dropped lower and lower, the headlines became sour. People DO read that and DO make decisions based on that, especially in this day and age. The later the reviews come out, the better a potentially popular movie will do.

Fatigue is all fine and dandy but, for better or worse, the MCU is feeding the movie industry. If critics were less brutal to new properties, then maybe people would be more likely to make them and, more importantly, studios would be more willing to get them made. If all we can rely on is known superhero properties, then why bother to make anything new or take any chances?

So if it is true that the MCU is dominating the movie market, let's imagine what would happen if it was gone. What absolutely SUCKS is that critics will have jobs either way. They can continue to review movies and shows that nobody sees. But those hurt by low review scores are not so lucky. Feige will be fine, but award-winning Chloe Zhao may be shut out of big films. There are ways to critique movies without absolutely MURDERING movies that just aren't the best thing they've seen. It's really a shame.

I'm supposed to care about the fates of Hollywood celebrities? Good to know.

$71 million means flop. Disney's had a tough time of late with its dopey superhero films. Cool.

Your disdain for critics is comical.

@Magenta Panther may be true BUT it's all there is now. If there were a replacement, then bring it on. Otherwise, without superhero movies, for the moment, we'd be back in 1986-1988.

@Archie123 are we supposed to NOT have disdain for critics? I mean, are we supposed to actually support them in the face of the damage they do?

$71M ($161M worldwide) is certainly not a flop but also not a big success. There's a wide area in between. Holds will be interesting for Eternals, but it will probably be okay, make a small profit once its all said and done and Disney/the MCU will move on.

The opening is still one of the largest of the year during a random weekend in November. If Eternals is a "flop" than the entire movie industry is doomed by that standard.
