Marvel in Hollywood Studios?

Nice. I'd eat there if it was offered. But I'm guessing Universal wouldn't allow a Marvel-themed eatery.

If they do allow it, I'll be first in line for a slice of Captain America's old fashion apple pie*.

*Super Soldier Serum not included
I can see it now... They can have a mega sandwich called "The Hulk" and as a drink you can order the "God of Thunder." I can imagine a dessert with lots of chocolate called the "Black Widow."

I think I may be hungry...

Per the contract, Marvel is not allowed to open its own store within a 60 mile radius of Orlando.

Strange, I did not see that there the first time I read it, but yeah, looks like they're stuck.

Don't they already sell Marvel merchandise in their stores anyway though? I could have sworn I saw Marvel stuff inside of Once Upon a Toy and World of Disney. Then again, all the stores I go to kind of blend together. I suppose selling merchandise and operating a labeled store are two different things anyway. If they are indeed selling Marvel toys and such in their own stores, then they're really reaping the benefit anyway. I doubt they care much what the sign says as long as whatever is inside is selling.

I predict, by the end of May:

3 more MARVEL IN WDW threads will have been started
5 more AVATAR IN WDW threads will have been started
2 MONORAIL EXPANSION threads will have been started
2 DISNEY BUILDING 5TH GATE threads will have been started

Yes, this is going to a a MONSTEROUS summer for nonsense threads on here...

Yea it so stupid especially the 5th gate thing. There is no way that will happen with that state the other parks are. I just don't understand why everyone believes CM.

There was a Marvel Mania restaurant at Universal Studios Hollywood. But it was not a hit.

Here's exerpts from the menu:

But why would Universal ever agree to it? Having the Marvel characters in their park is a major selling point. I can't imagine they would allow any Marvel meet and greet at WDW without exhausting all of their legal options.
Let's carry it a step further, why would Disney want to popularize and promote attractions that are at Universal Florida? You build a store with Marvel Characters Souvenirs and then have to tell them that these characters can be found up the road at Universal. The less they remind people the better off Disney is. Universal would have an objection because it might cost them gift shop sales, but Disney has a lot more to lose by pushing Marvel Characters in Florida.

That is what happens when Disney isn't announcing things.

What I also "heard" (However, I am very skeptical to post because of the comments that I know it will get) is that Disney sends Imagineers into Universal to check on all of the Marvel rides to make sure everything is up to their standard, and that Disney is hoping that by annoying Universal this much it will make them give up the agreement.

Again, not sure if it is correct.

I know way back that the Imagineers were very impressed, or maybe envious, of the Back to the Future ride, that's according to Douglas Trumbull who designed that attraction, but it sounds plausible that Disney checks out UNI's stuff

I still can't figure out why they renewed the Lego store lease knowing the park was opening.

It is not my theory. And I know Marvel IP can be seen on property. Ant-Man is probably a legal gray area but new characters will not be. And it has been confirmed there will be new characters. Which you know very well Disney will want to promote on property
Find the most popular comic character, hero or villain, from any company, created in the last twenty years. Even some of the "newer" characters, like Venom or Deadpool, are over 20 years old now. Creating popular new comic characters just ain't easy. My money is probably on Hellboy, and he was created... 19.5 years ago!
