As cool as an idea this is - I am a little skeptical that it even happened.

I count 9 hands holding signs - but only 4 people in the boat holding those signs.

Hmmmmmmmm.

One of my best friends from back in high school proposed to his girlfriend the exact same way back in 2009 (also at Disneyland), though it was just him holding a single sign behind her, not a group of people. She didn't see the sign until the monitors after the ride.
