I loved the line up when i saw it.. The theme for the parade is "Stories".. which would make some interesting reuses of the old floats. lol

The new stage will be over in the old Bone Yard area where they have held the Mardi Gras concerts the past few years.

I like it better here than over by Mel's. There's more space and more room to get in and out of the area for a refill or bathroom break.

I don't think they'll have the stage ready for the first few shows, hopefully by Bare Naked Ladies!

I am already planing to see Frankie Valli & the Four Seasons.

Question:

If I get the 2 pakr / 1 day ticket, will that be valid for the Mardi Gras concert? Because it says Frankie Valli goes on at 8:45 but that the park closes at 8pm. When I got to the site and look up tickets, it is just a page about either the $45.99 after 5pm or a season pass.

They were setting up a stage by Mel's Dine-In. Don't know if it was for Mardi Gras though.

That was for the Gators celebration today.

The stage *looks* like it could be ready in the three weeks there is til the first night... from what can be seen it looks like they just need to start painting and all that jazz. If it's not ready though, I'm sure the Hollywood stage would be OK for the first three nights. They've GOT to have it ready for Ne-Yo, though... I fully expect Sean Paul/Daughtry-style insanity for that one.

The "park closes at 8pm" really just means that the rides and shows will stop at 8pm and they'll start shutting it down except for the concert/front of the park after that time. A regular day ticket works for Mardi Gras, it is just like Macy's or Grinchmas in that it's not a seperate ticket event.
