Hey everyone, let's get the brainstorm juices flowing!
There hasn't been much feedback since I posted my ideas last night. If you don't like them, then propose something else! We've gotta think about ideas for the nature trail, too.
Wow, that's really well thought out! Perhaps it's a little more than what the space can reasonably offer, but that's okay (we can always cut things later).I liked your idea of doing an Indy coaster. Either that or a boat to differentiate from just reusing the ride system. For either one though, I'd advocate doing both entirely indoors. The park needs it from an ops perspective, and it keeps with the way the park is laid out where guests only see the settings, theming and the animals with the attractions something that needs to be explored out of sight (short of EE for the most part).
I'm working on something following Disney's potential plan, but for this prompt, I'd think about completely rearranging the place, especially if the EMV is not being used.
Key is picking a consistent time period for IP/Non-IP to exist in and if there's a common thread or story desired for the land in the vein of Jungle Cruise Navigation Co or does something like that even make sense or work. 1950's works for latter part of Encanto and Indy. Any UP presence would have to reflect.
- Place the Indy coaster/boat/etc. where PW was, and part of the Dino USA games area set in a Guatemalan jungle/temple so that it's more easily connected to the former boneyard that gets a slight retheme to blend in.
- Or only the Boneyard is Indy and a completely original, non-IP attraction is built.
- Between that and the former Dino show building is the animal trail, maybe even partially incorporated into an outdoor portion of the Indy queue providing good back of house access to the animals.
- Include Costa Rican Jaguars (endangered and big conservation efforts), Colombian capybara, etc.
- Restaurantaosaurus perhaps becomes a Costa Rican restaurant built into the jungle.
- Angel Falls, Venezuela becomes the backdrop at the back edge of the old Dinosaur show building as a good weenie seen from both entrances into the land and away from EE sightlines
- Up doesn't have to be used, but good location for a Kevin M&G
- Include whatever Encanto presence (or non-IP ride) is desired and probably room for at least 2 flat rides in the space IP or Non-IP (one of which could be Encanto if not doing a dark ride for it)
- I think this provides a nice logical and real-world flow from lower Central America (Guatemala/Costa Rica) to northern S. America (Colombia/Venezuela) as you enter the back of the land.
I KNOW I said that I wasn’t participating, but this IS THE BEST CONCEPT!For inspiration, check out Team Cassie’s South America: World of Talokan at AK for the What If.. Comp!
Is there a way to do it without monkey and bat gods? Some Ideas:
OK, what if we made the Boneyard into something along the lines of a newly discovered archaeological site that Indiana Jones is exploring with interactive games based on Maya mythology for guests to play under the pretense of the games being vital to help Indy learn the secrets of the Maya. Guests could play a ball game with the Lords Of The Underworld in a tomb, play a game with Maya musical instruments with Hun Batz, one of two Howler Monkey Gods, in a temple, fly past obstacles in a cave with the Bat God Camazotz, explore a pyramid in search of the maize used to form people with Kukulkan, the Feathered Serpent, and even help Chaac, the rain god, create the rain. Now, these should all be child friendly depictions that aren't scary, despite coming from one of the darkest mythologies out there. If we do this, I think I can handle it! (Took inspiration from Talokan for this!)
The animal trail could totally work with a Multinational theme, but I think that if we made 2 trails, one for Central America and one for South America, it would be more unique. Both should have rainforest theming with no particular ancient cultures in mind.
The Encanto ride could be a trackless ride through Antonio’s room and Isabela’s room that showcases plants and animals from South America.
Well, we could always say that they’re “Nahuals”. Nahuals are an idea that Aztecs and Mayas shared. It basically boils down to “animal spirits”.Is there a way to do it without monkey and bat gods?
We have The Lost Tomb, a coaster-dark ride inside of a pyramid themed to discovering a Maya king’s tomb in a trap filled temple replacing DINOSAUR, Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple Of The Wayob, a Maya ruins themed interactive play area replacing the boneyard, Antonio’s Animal Adventure, a trackless ride through Antonio’s Room, showcasing Colombian nature, Cafe De Selva, a restaurant built into the Jungle serving Costa Rican cuisine, a Guatemalan village with shops, the Encanto village with shops, a small trail themed to an abandoned rubber factory in the Amazon replacing Theater In The Wild, a replica of Angel Falls as the landmark (Think Everest in Asia or the Tree!), and a large trail replacing the Dino trail! I feel that my idea would be how this land would go if Joe Rohde made this land! Can someone list out what attractions, dining, shopping we’re going to have, with maybe a small description to go with them? With it, I can get started on a map.
I was MIA the last few days. Anyways, it doesn't seem like we had decided on the ride type for Indiana Jones. Although some suggestion had been put to a roller coaster, there was also some consideration to a water ride (perhaps Pirates style). I think the type of story you want to tell would sort of dictate which system to use. If you want to immerse people in a setting, Pirates is a great way to go. If you want to focus on thrill and suspense, then Mummy roller coaster is a great way.We have The Lost Tomb, a coaster-dark ride inside of a pyramid themed to discovering a Maya king’s tomb in a trap filled temple replacing DINOSAUR, Indiana Jones Adventure: Temple Of The Wayob, a Maya ruins themed interactive play area replacing the boneyard, Antonio’s Animal Adventure, a trackless ride through Antonio’s Room, showcasing Colombian nature, Cafe De Selva, a restaurant built into the Jungle serving Costa Rican cuisine, a Guatemalan village with shops, the Encanto village with shops, a small trail themed to an abandoned rubber factory in the Amazon replacing Theater In The Wild, a replica of Angel Falls as the landmark (Think Everest in Asia or the Tree!), and a large trail replacing the Dino trail! IMO I would love an Encanto boat ride which ends with the butterfly paradise areathere was also some consideration to a water ride (perhaps Pirates style)
So, I think it goes without saying that we're not going to go with 2 water rides in the land. So we decide either Encanto boat ride or Indiana Jones boat ride or neither.IMO I would love an Encanto boat ride which ends with the butterfly paradise area
