Mannequins and 8TRAX will be reopening soon?

Because Mickey wants to play with everyone's emotions.

I don't see any reason why they wouldn't reopen AC if they are going to reopen 8trax and Mannequins. Would only make sense if they are moving the DJ booth, then you would have a reason for people to be down by the DJ booth.

It was posted here that AC will not be reopening because most of the people that went there didn't spend enough money, i.e. didn't drink enough. A bar needs people to drink to make profits. That place had it even harder because they were paying live actors every night. Most bars or clubs you just have a DJ for entertainment. I can't see how they would make a profit unless it was extremely popular, which it wasn't.

Mannequins has been completely stripped down to the bare bones, so this is false.

Agreed, makes little sense when two clubs (BET and Motion) are more or less ready to go as is from an infrastructure perspective. Unless E-Brands is playing hardball and WDW really needs to make sure Paradiso 37 has some foot traffic.

If you read the article that the OP linked to, it was said that the execs walking around ordered that Mannequins and 8Trax be "brought back up" to show-ready status...I know, it's all rumors at this point, but even if the place has been somewhat gutted, it sounds like they're getting ready to refurb and re-open...

Here's hoping...I don't care for Mannequins, but I could be happy with 8Trax if they're not going to open AC or CW...

Read the attached link to get all the information, they only removed the lights. They weren't stripped and it would be relatively easy to reinstall them. Negative comment are like arm pits, every one has two and they both stink. Its great to see some positive information coming out about PI!!!

If the equipment inventory is available, and light and sound plots are fully planned out in advance, a full rig could be loaded back in within a day or two. Roadies do it for concerts all the time.

It'll be interesting to see these clubs reopen, but why not AC???? :(

Because Mickey wants to play with everyone's emotions.

While I'm not yet sure of the validity of this rumor (I'm looking into it this week), I look at this with two reasons why the company wouldn't want to reopen the Adventurer's Club:
  1. It is a costly club to operate--not only are talent needed, but bartenders and security. In general, with the club not bringing in any major profits, I don't think the call alone would warrent its revival when it barely breaks even.
  2. Fan attachment--it took quite some time for many diehard fans of the AC to accept the fact that the club was closed, and Disney has received such a negative response from that audience, they just want it to be over with it (and I have not doubt that Iger's short response to the AC-related question has to do with PR's frustration over the whole situation). To reopen the club, with the intent to shut it down later on would only revive the uproar that has somewhat died down. Thats not to say that there aren't people who are still upset, or people who will never forgive the company for their actions, but much of the negative feedback has evaporated with time. Disney doesn't want to reopen this piece of history unless they are sure it will stay open--they won't go through this stress again willingly without probable reason to believe that their venture will be lasting and successful.
Just the way I see it from the company's standpoint...

As for the current state of the clubs, you may want to visit my latest trip report from Pleasure Island--I was able to grab some photos showing the interior state of the BET Soundstage Club, Motion, the Rock and Roll Beach Club and more. If there is any hope that a club would reopen, it would be in one of those three or in Mannequins.

I was not trying to sound negative, but I am just realistic. I loved PI, and I still have not found anything to fill its void. I just feel that people are reading way into this.

We walked through PI last month. Onece during the day, and once in the evening. Both times it was a sad sight. It's like walking through a no man's land.

Reopening a few clubs makes sense to cure the ghost town impression. Its got to be dragging down the other areas of DTD and Im sure the retailers are screaming about that. It was a huge mistake and even if the clubs don't make money the area retailers make money from the increased flow of people and thats DTD bread and butter.
