Wasn't their speed, in completing this project what got the animation directors the job of Beauty and the Beast?

Yep! Kirk Wise said in an interview that saying yes to working on CC was the smartest thing he ever did and that it kicked off his career.

Even the concept art was interesting.

This story sketch showcases Buzzy – the brain-pilot-in-training – receiving a bit of prodding criticism from Left Brain.


Even more interesting is that still kept the older designs for Buzzy and General Knowledge as seen in this backstage photo.

I love getting to see this but I also hate it because I know I'm not going to get to see the rest of it...! Archives! Please!

I'll admit I was intrigued by his posts in the beginning, but he took things WAY too far very quickly. He's an entitled rich kid who thinks the laws don't apply to him. He has no appreciation for the history he's choosing to deface. I for one hope he stays gone and finds different hobby.

There's a good chance he will be living in DC soon.

Weird off topic question, does putting a URL in your post curse it to stay in limbo? I made a huge informative post a long while back with tons of links to info about the AA and I'm just now realizing that may have been what caused it to hide forever

I think if you have below a certain number of posts it may block links, or even the post from being posted (to prevent bots from spamming virus ridden sites, etc). If it was long enough ago, that's what could've happened.

You'd think posting tons of backstage photos of the Character/Costume Department would have caught Disney's attention. Considering how strict Disney is when it comes to backstage photos these days.

In the December police report it's pretty clear Disney knew what he was doing for quite some time. Meanwhile he was on podcasts using a voice modulator trying to sound like Emperor Zurg and hide his identity.

Another thing I find particularly interesting is that this concept art exists of a design that's somewhere right in between Captain Cortex (blue hat, red jumpsuit Buzzy) and Buzzy as we know him. (Honestly this just looks like Buzzy's dad) This is from the animator Sue Nichols's website, here's the description:

"Since the Development Department was just starting, it was not yet organized and often had you drawing ideas for stories that we did not have the rights for. Most of my work in the beginning were on such ideas that will never see the light of day. I got to know Kirk Wise and Gary Trousdale during this time and joined their team to design characters for an animated intro used at Epcot's ride Cranium Command. My face even appeared in the show as a brain being jumped started. Very cool."

I guess this shows they had the AA completed first and had to go back and fix him to look like the new design!

It's wishful thinking but how cool would it be if Disney+ produced documentaries that detailed the development of these retired rides.

Its probably way too much of a niche audience. But one can dream.

I don't know if Disney is going to even acknowledge Cranium Command again after all of this.

I'd do some seriously nasty stuff for the preshow to be put on Disney+ so a small documentary about the ride would take me out. I've wanted to contact some of the people who worked on CC (Sue Nichols who helped design Buzzy, his voice actor Scott Curtis) but I'm scared I'd be annoying or bothering them sending them an email asking questions about a thing they worked on over 30 years ago that they may not remember well
