Can anyone tell me WHY the majority of discounts last year excluded club level and this year (2025) for the first time ever club level rooms are excluded from the military discount. What gives?!

One would assume they are not having a problem selling the club-level rooms.
Disney did two things regarding Club Level Rooms.

They initially excluded them from Room Only Discounts* in 2023 and early 2024 promotions. However, as you got closer to checkin, inventory was added to the AP Discount Inventory, Disney Visa, Florida Resident, and D+ Discount inventory.

Disney also at various points in 2024 and continuing to do it into Winter 2025 took an unusual step for some of their promotional period of excluding Friday and Saturday Nights (Most expensive) from Room only discounts. Essentially you were paying rack rate for the weekend. This sleight of hand trick caused many people to get stupid high prices when booking a stay through a weekend.

I can attest that there are discounts for Club Level Rooms and availability. In fact when booking my last minute Thanksgiving trip, there was a wide variety of discounted Club Level Rooms available. Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club, AKL, WL, all had rooms that were around $200-250 off rack. The lowest I saw was at Yacht for around $775 plus tax, which was around $300 more than an equivalent standard room per night at Yacht.

*Also Coronado Tower Club rooms and Suites (which are by far the nicest rooms on property) were available and discounted. (Which I had originally booked and then changed to Yacht because I grabbed hold of my senses)

The late discounts, though offered, still aren't all that great.

WDW's discounts used to be more trustworthy in the sense that if they said the discount was, 'Up to 30% off' the rates were actually 30% off rack. Now, despite the ad, the discounted rates are often more like 15-20% off rack. It is rather deceptive, if someone doesn't bother to check.

The other crazy thing now is the difference between the assorted room categories. The difference between no-view rooms and pool view, for a long time, was only about $10. Now it is more like $50. And the upcharge gets even crazier for anything like a castle view.

At the value and moderate levels, it is also a crazy upcharge to go from a 2 queen room to a king room.

At the end of many nights, the Guardians queue is empty. I would love to be able to ride at night as a standard standby.

I would like to see the option that on days when that is the scenario they open it up for standby or let people who already had a VQ get another one or something.

Not necessarily for all the time but when it is like that, why not
