I hope and pray that they don't put in Starbucks Coffee, we will never hear the end of it. File this under the heading of "What would Walt think". :D

perhaps some menu updates to get this food court's offerings up to the level of Art of Animation (or at least POP)?

Wouldn't doubt that at the very least choices will change and prices will rise. I certainly enjoy the offerings more at AoA and POP, if not the price points. I don't even recall if I dined at the (fanbois, there's your opening for jokes aplenty) on my last stay there in 2010.

Yes, that I definitely noticed on my last stay. Worse, the sun coming in has faded/ruined many of them, so it might be wise to rethink what they do on that wall.

My fantasy love Danica is on the wall with a photo from last Fall.

Needless to say, I have had countless hours and dollars lost in arcades across property playing a hockey game with air alongside your pal.

It's good that they have added some new because when I was there in 2010, all the photos seemed go be from the 90s or maybe up yo Y2K. AS to the latter point, my pal can afford it!:)

I would have thought with the proliferation of iPads, iPhones, and Android devices that arcades would be on their way out.
I know when we were at POP last November, the arcade was largely empty every time we passed by.
And although we had free vouchers included with our CAA package, my niece chose pool-time over arcade-time hands down.

I have arcade machines and a pinball machine at home and I will agree they don't seem too popular with the public anymore. What kids do seem to like is the arcade machines converted to ticket redemption, especially mobile games such as doodle jump. Very popular handing in tickets which cost $100 to exchange for a $5 toy.

Pinball on the other hand still doesn't seem to be a money spinner, Pirates of the Caribbean and Tron were neglected and in some resorts broken.

Hopefully they will update the lobby so that it would not exclusively feature athletes from 2 decades ago.
Wow...it has not been updated yet?
I assumed it was all the All Stars that had a refresh when Music had it*s lobby area updated a year or so ago.

On my last pass through i noticed all the framed portraits of the musicians were changed.
About time too...they were looking VERY faded and shabby previously.

It was not updated as of my last visit (May 2008) that said it's certainly possible that they were updated in the past 4 years but knowing how slowly things occur at WDW, It would not surprise me if they were not. Heck they can just barely take care of the parks, I doubt they think about the value resorts much.

It seems like, at the very least, that changing out posters or photographs would be a very easy thing to do. And cheap, which is why I'm wondering why that couldn't be done every one or two years.

I've also wondered why each particular resort (sports, music and movies) doesn't have a gift shop that sort of specializes in it's theme.

Imagine that.... Themed merchandise! If they can't do it for a park I don't hold much hope for all star resorts!

The shops do have some differences...small but they are there, and more then just the themed decor.

In the past i have visited them and noticed different merch at each one. Not a lot...but a few slight differences. Definately true regarding Trading Pins, as i have scored better finds at one Resort more then the other two.

Interesting when you consider the product is all coming from the same source, and the All Star Resorts are all right next door to each other...literally.

I find it worth the walks across the parking lots to poke around when staying there.

Ah...okay...2008 was the last time you were there.
I am sure they have been updated at this point, as of January 2013 i noticed the new framed photos at Music.
There is now less of them ..and they are all much larger now in size. Not like the previous arrangement of small framed photos next to larger ones.

Most of the selections were artists i could not really relate to, besides the legendary standards, so my impression was in the case of the Music*s hall it has gone in the direction of more contemporary acts.

I do miss the portrait of Queen ( big fan ) and the nice image of Paul McCartney with John Lennon in the late 60s. Always like to nod to these when passing by them late in the evenings, despite there incredibly faded condition.

I just imagined that the Music resort would perhaps have an area selling Disney music, movie scores, musicals, or maybe park music. The same with the Movie resort (movies, obviously), and Sports specializing in sports themed merch and perhaps even unique type sports equipment. Not just a little shelf, but a large area dedicated to just those things, themed and designed in a unique way. I mean, that's what I'd do.

Thought I would post this here, so it didn't get buried elsewhere in my Spirited thread, but the End Zone Food court at the All Star Sports resort will close sometime in August for its first major refurb since the resort opened in 1994.

It will remain closed until early December.

The arcade will be used for grab and go purchases and Disney will provide bus transport for those too lazy to walk next door to the Intermission Food Court at the All Star Music resort.

Will we be able to use the refillable mugs around or near the arcade? We are staying here in November, we are on the dining plan, but have considered changing if we can't use the mugs at all...

That is going to make for some very busy food courts at the other two resorts over the summer months and with free dining in the fall!

I have heard a lot about how AoA's food court is so much better, but I just haven't noticed that. Maybe I'm missing something and should do a more in-depth analysis.

I agree. I think they need to concentrate on paying homage to the music pioneers such as DR.Dre, Snoop Lion, Notorious BIG, Jay-Z, Biggie and the other classicists. My man L.V.B would fit fine too.

I went to Dave and Busters a few months ago and was surprised at how different an arcade is today. It is like every mobile game and video game that died out was just reincarnated into arcade form. They had Guitar Hero arcade games and fruit ninja... Which was basically a larger ipad on a stand.
