Major LBV/DTD Hotel Refurb Announced for WDW

Irregardless of DTD, if Holiday Inn had been thinking of doing this upgrade, now is the time to do it. Construction prices are still rock bottom, and from what I understand some contractors are even bidding below cost just to keep their staff working. Why not do any upgrade now if they had the money? WDW is still hopefully a reasonably sound investment on their part.

This is old news ... HI took over the hotel (the old HoJo's more recently Courtyard) years ago before the wave of hurricanes passed through in 2004/2005 and damaged the place. The hotel has been gutted for a good 3-4 years now and for a while it looked like nothing was ever going to happen.

Here is a tidbit you might find interesting. Not sure Holiday Inn would be making such an investment during such lean times if they were not optimistic about DTD and it's bold new future :animwink:.

Enjoy.....

This refurb has everything to do with the 4 parks and absolutely nothing to do with DTD. If DTD did not exist this refurb would still be going on. You are grasping at straws to try and prove your argument. Just a nickles worth of free advice from the little green guy...Stop. Lay low. Wait until something big happens AT DTD then jump from the shadows and claim your intellectual superiority over having called it years ago. This thread makes you look desperate to be correct, which you very well might be, but it won't be proved overnight.

Just trying to keep the scale balanced. If the D&G stops, I'll stop. Just trying to balance the scale. I LOVE being out on this limb. :)

Yin and Yang.

Thanks for the advice however.

If only you knew how many people have predicted my "fall" throughout my entire life. I'm everything the little "green guy" advocates before there was a little "green guy". If you only knew.

I was just going to say, we drove by there our last trip and saw the place vacant, just as it was our trip before that.

Yes
The Holiday Inn on Hotel Plaza Blvd has been closed since Hurricane Charley in 2004. 5 years later it's going to re-open...wow

Why do I feel if it was announced the hotel was being closed for good and demolished that Downtown Disney would be blamed? Just saying..........
