It's not Indy. Effects don't work anymore and you run through it because the merge point is outside. I'd put E.T., Forbidden Journey and Escape from Gringotts ahead of it for Universal attractions. I'd put Everest and Kali ahead of it for Disney attractions.

Unless I'm mistaken it was the first truly themed queue though. That's got to count for something.

I always thought that WDW Pirates was one of the first themed queues. In that it started telling the story before you entered the ride here, whereas at DL the story didn't start until you entered the ride. Possibly was done to help with the fact that WDW is half as long as DL version due to fast tracking the project along. sine Pirates was not intended to be put in WDW at first, until guests demands were listened to.

But, I could be wrong though.

Thanks, method for the madness = I saw via the parks blog months ago they were supposed to introduce a new collection of pirates merchandise this year (http://disneyparks.disney.go.com/bl...ew-disney-parks-merchandise-arriving-in-2015/) and I was thinking perhaps it would happen along with the refurbish/reopen since hadn't really seen anything yet. To be fair, merch doesn't take that long to put out so sorta silly in retrospect.
