Don't bother, it's a lot like the criticism that I have heard many times about Test Track. The real impressiveness is not in the scenery or the queue it is in the ride vehicle itself. On Test Track so many people get so wrapped up in what they are seeing that they completely forget what they are riding in. A driver-less car, completely run by computer that goes from stop and varying speeds up to 60 miles an hour during the duration of the ride. That has been more impressive to me that anything that they have ever stuck in there to see during that ride. But... it is missed by most almost as if the have experienced that driver-less car in their everyday life.
So this basically?

Yeah I guess there has to be "that guy" on every board. But honestly love that ride.

But back on topic, I would love to get some confirmation on what is actually being refurbed.

In principle, the technological advancements or components rather of an attraction are of an extensive appeal and should be greatly respected. In the acknowledgement of such, it is also a great necessity to provide the greatest utilization of such technology to the guest through rites of show quality. It is an equilibrium of infastructure and ornament to comprise a whole.

Lots.
This was a very extensive refurb.

I should rephrase my question lol What exactly are they doing to it? Aside from fixing the boats filling with water and hopefully the pile up issue at the end?

Honestly I'm kinda sad they are fixing the water issue lol I kind of liked getting a little wet at the bottom of the drop.. Shame they can't make it so you do still get a little wet/misted but not soaked and cause water in the boats :).

Also I wish/hope they would make the canon air effect work better/more often!

Yep totally... a gigantic mechanical swing. I really don't see the appeal of the ride when most people coming to the parks already spent hours in a plane. It also does not fit in Epcot; it ruined the design of The Land Pavilion; the queue is constantly dirty; overall it's a mess. I like to use Soarin' as a perfect example of how tourists will eat up table scraps.
You see, I don't get the "doesn't fit The Land narrative" thing. Soarin's all about celebrating a diverse variety of landscapes, natural or otherwise. Problem is that in lazily recycling DCA's film, it's stuck in the narrow focus of a single state. New film will be a much better fit for Epcot from the looks of it.

Queue is indeed crap though.

When did I ever say, I didn't like that ride. It's others that said that because they missed a major part of the attraction because they were focused on the surroundings. The fact is that the current TT is exactly the same ride as the original TT. The only difference is the outward things that you are looking at. The marvel, missed by most of you folks is the vehicle you are riding in not what you are looking at. That just adds interest to the ride.
Just saying that it's not as impressive as you make it out to be, should have been obvious. In all fairness you just proved my point.
So you are saying that an almost full sized human vehicle operating on it's admittedly forced track, but, going faster and slower, cornering, running up to 60 mph guided by a computer only, filled with living people is the same thing as that toy on that plastic track whose speed is controlled by a person and still manages to fly off at every corner. I don't think any part of your point was proved. Just saying!

I think everyone here has endured a 'that guy'. We just have to resist taking the bait!
:)
Sure because educating people to a part of the system that they may not have even thought about is baiting. I guess your right, I'm baiting people to be informed. I should be shot! And, btw, I never have to be endured. Simply put me on ignore. It will save both of us from high blood pressure.

The pile up at the end has been the situation since the ride (on either coast) opened. It cannot be helped and depends heavily on how fast the previous riders can clear the dock. Those that need assistance to exit and board will always be a big reason for the pile up at the end. That, I don't believe is fixable unless the reduce the number of boats and allow more time between them. In that case the line will stretch all the way back to the Castle.

hmm... the vehicles are cars produced by GM, running on a slot in the floor, picking its ques and power from that slot... wrong vehicle to say is groundbreaking...

this is the one to rave over, the EMV
Time+Rover.jpg

onboard hydro, three thrust planes (x, y & z) with three rotational axes (pitch, roll, and yaw), while it is still a slot and power comes from it, it could launch you like you were sitting on a trebuchet

Hmm I don't remember it always being as bad as it has been though... If they can't fix the pile up perhaps they could change the ending scene to be more interesting and entertaining... Perhaps video? or, as much as I hate to say the word, "interactive"?

You can't be serious. The Test Track ride system (admittedly, when it fully functions) is quite impressive and one of the most advanced in the world. The computer power aboard each individual car is insane. You can't possibly compare it to a simple toy set with a straight face.

[Soarin'] ruined the design of The Land Pavilion
Finally someone that recognizes this. The look of The Land pavilion was changed a lot when the pavilion reopened with Soarin'. It looks horrible today, and its layout (especially in the Sunshine Seasons area) is a nightmare for both Cast Members and guests, not to mention the much smaller queue for Living with the Land. At least they just changed the carpet. The new one is better.

While I agree the EMV's in dinosaur are impressive. You are way over simplifying the Teat Track vehicles. For starters they are not "cars" produced by GM. The EMV obviously has a larger range of motion but the TT vehicles while mechanically less complex are technically more advanced.
