It quite possibly will be. Mine too.

Save yourself for the Anaheim or Paris versions. Now THEY are spectacular.
Right now I have plans to visit Paris in Mid-October. What are the chances that due to the influx of capital recently reported it might create a MK, DHS, DAK type of walled park? Also, what is the weather around there in Mid-October.

It really needs it too. I can think of several things:
1. Mist projection
2. Boats getting stuck or taking on water
3. Addressing the fact they now close the back row because an idiot tourist stuck out his hand and was injured.

Maybe because of #2 and #3, they'll put in new boats to address their getting stuck or taking on water and which didn't require the back row to blocked off, at least when I was there in early December, but extends the length behind the back row to prevent that kind of accident in the future.

Dang. Likely down for our June trip. Bummer.

I'm in the same boat. We're visiting late May/early June, so I'm wondering if this is more of a summer refurb, which means it would start pre-Memorial Day, or if they're hoping to make this a more fall-focused one, which would mean it would start just after Fourth of July. Given that PoTC is such a major attraction (it's well known), it seems odd they'd have it down for the Fourth, but they did it with Space. Anyways, let's hope for the latter, but any more info would be appreciated!

Is SM that bad? Was there in August didn't seem like it needed a refurb at all
The problems with Splash Mountain was before last year. Splash Mountain a lot of problems in 2011 and 2012 before its lengthy refurbishment in 2012 because it didn't get its yearly refurbishment in 2012, and only focusing on adding lap bars on its 2011 refurbishment.

No, the back row was not closed due to that.

There's far more that needs fixing than that. You just scratched the surface.

RCS
Flume
Backstage infrastructure
Belt motors (again)
Show lighting
Show audio mix and balance
Speakers
And of course the boat fleet

Walls.... It shouldnt be that bad.

As of now expect It's a Small World, Adventure Isle, the Treehouse and the Railroad to be closed in October.

You'll want warm clothing and a good rain coat! Rain isn't guaranteed but lower temperatures are.

He's part of the chain that makes decisions.
That is true, but how much longer Phil Holmes plans to stay is the big question. I am bringing this up because he is getting up there in age since he been in WDW since August of 1971 and he's going to be 63 this year.

Sadly, I don't remember the DL version (I was a teenager last time I went), but you're right about the DLP one, I love it, especially dining at The Blue Lagoon inside the ride. I wish they built a similar restaurant inside PotC at WDW, you think it will ever happen?

Paris hardly ever gets any attention, if you think Florida refurbs aren't frequent enough then Paris might make you ill. But having said that a lot of it is newer and they have started a gradual refurbishment program, especially around the hotels, but as far as I know there's little planned for this year. DLRPToday is the website I use to keep track of Paris (news, refurbs etc.) so maybe take a look? And weather is usually mild if a little wet (this is coming from a Brit so depending where you're from it might be cooler as a visitor from the States).
