Surprised they could power themselves for that distance. Dont think they cover more than a few miles during the parade.

They at least have the power capacity to run in the Magic Kingdom/Disneyland twice a night without recharging.

Thanks for the link....going to be there June 6th for the opening night...told my wife and the rest of the family that I love them and hope they want to run up to Orlando for the night...but if not, thats OK with me as I will still leave them all to go for the night! I grew up with this parade since the 1977 beginning at the MK....lots of memories for me...

It started in Disneyland in 1972 (I believe it was inspired by WDW's Electrical Water Pageant) and then started in the MK in 1977.

There are some rumors circulating that it will stay in WDW for 2 years...but that's nowhere near official....
