Mail order experiences?

I was thinking of calling mail order and placing an order for a cople of things. One's a jacket that was in Pop Century, the other is a very detailed castle that stands about maybe a foot and a half that was in World of Disney jewelry section. How good are they at finding the item?

Sorry for accidentally posting in wrong section. Too much "stale" talk I guess. :)

My family used mail order to get the bride and groom ears a few years ago and they had no problem. Last year I called them to see where on property they had the christmas sweatshirt I was looking for and didn't have a problem.

I'm guessing that as long as you have a good discription and know about what it should cost you shouldn't have a problem.

While we were at WDW in May we spotted the coolest brushed metal Mickey icon cabinet/drawer knobs. At the time of our trip we were living in an apartment and couldn't make modifications such as the knobs. Within a few weeks of returning home we were plunged into the process of purchasing a new house. The Mickey knobs literally haunted me! They would've made the perfect understated classy Disney touch that I always look to decorate with. On a whim I called WDW Merchandising. I explained the knobs to the CM the best I could. She pulled up the item immediately. She let me know that they were on back-order and the upcoming shipment looked like it was going to be the last as the item was being discontinued. I doubled my order and received my knobs the week of closing on the house. :sohappy: I looooove WDW Merchandising. They rock!

We've used the mail order folks quite a few times and have had complete success. If you managed to copy the stock number from the price tag its a big plus, but otherwise they can search based on your description. We've even started writing down stock numbers and ordering once we return from visits to save on having to fit everything in our suitcases.
Getting a box marked 'Disney' brightens up the day.

Years ago there was a Beasts Castle (Beauty and the Beast) figurine that stands about a foot tall that I always had my eye on but never bought. When they discontinued the piece I called WDW Mail Order to try and get one before they were all gone. I didn’t have a sku number or the proper name of the piece. They were able to locate one of the last ones in stock at the Pleasure Island art store (not the Art of Disney at DTDM) and send it to me. They were great to work with. :sohappy:

Thanks for the all the advice. I should have bought the castle when we were there, but couldn't talk myself (or DH) into at the time. :)

Saw one of them two days ago at a Antiq Mart.
