I'm saying you should check the verbiage in each offering. Limited edition magic bands used to play sounds when you tapped in, but I don't think they've been selling those anymore since they switched over the ticketing systems. I have a glow in the dark Nightmare one from years ago that plays some sounds. All the new ones that are pitched with a higher price say "Limited Release", which just means there are fewer of them.

I think they basically stopped selling the ones with the sounds because then they have to keep them functioning in perpetuity.
None of the LE ones that used to play sounds work for me anymore.
I have the
Anna & Elsa F&G
MNSSHP 2018
MVMCP 2017
And a few others I can’t quite think of of the top of my head and those haven’t worked in years

Looks like the ones that were released today (Turning Red and Easter) are both labeled as Limited Edition so....I don't know about that.

MagicBand+ with the likely included charger and side profile. A note on "likely included charger." Given that there could have been revisions or if it doesn't come with a cable, that is why I have it as likely.

Doubt it but I would love if it vibrated and have an audio reminder of a Dinning or lightning lane reservation to save me looking at my phone
In general programmable reminders would be useful. Tell MDE to alert you when a ride line reaches X minutes= MB+ buzzes. Or for split parties= enable buzzing when near each other. There's soany useful things they could do, but chose not to probably. Which is funny considering how much excess is on MDE.

…trying a bit too hard, aren’t we?

They already went full phone dependent. This is a case of long development being obsolete by the time of release. It’s like blackberry designed this?

It’s just another useless thing to buy…like mouse ears or pins.

It lights up and vibrates for certain things. Obsolete or not it will sell like crazy. Not saying I like these things but they will sell.

Do we know (or do we even have any credible rumors) whether these are going to exist alongside MagicBand 2 as an upgrade product, or if they're intended to be a replacement?

I don’t think I’ve ever had a battery die…it’s been what…8/9 years? Probably the last one I used was 4-5 years old.

It’s a “selling point”…people can tell themselves what the point actually is.
Remote ride photos for some rides end after about 1.5 years of use. Yes, we do ride photos and it sucks not all have tap points at the end. Literally the only selling point for me. Causes me to be less wasteful.

There are 2 methods for the band to work. An active like the ride photos you do not tap for that uses the battery. Then the passive where the power comes from the tap point like entry, doors, or any tap to get. The latter never stops. The former ends after about 1.5 years.

So while not a selling point for you, it legit is for me.

So magic bands I got in 2021 probably won't work for ride photos in 2023? What about memory maker when they scan the band?
