I’m interested to see who wants these? If I understand things correctly…they have made the days 100% phone dependent.

so just a duster crowd really?
I want one! I love using my MagicBand for Lightning Lane and hotel key + I really loved Glow With The Show so combining the two sounds really fun!

I am using this thing that holds my MB2 so no, I will not likely be getting one of the new MB3.

I guess no one has an educated guess as to when they will actually release the MB+? I've got our upcoming trip, plus I see they just released the WL-themed MagicBand. Having all the feels...

I might've bit on one, but after upgrading my Apple Watch and having my pass on it, I'm not adding another thing to my wrist.

They do need to work out whatever holding up the ability to use the watch to unlock the hotel door, but I didn't have any issues using my phone for that.

I expect the first guests will be getting one on 3/1 at SWGS.

Good point - but you would think that Disney would be all over that with press releases for their SWGS guests on the maiden voyage. I think they need all the good news they can get with this!

The sooner Disney supports Apples new Hotel Key function the better. Hyatt is in the process of rolling that out at their properties. They are up to 18 locations (started with 6).

Someone asked Scott Gustin about this on Twitter and it looks like it will still be regular MagicBands to start -

This is kind of insane as they are advertising a special magic band as part of the experience. Are they just dumping a Chandrila logo on a regular magic band?

I'd imagine they're using some custom chips for these. They'll need rfid, battery management, led control, and maybe even Bluetooth le? Can't imagine it'll be easy to build up a supply of them right now.
Non/educated guess: Let's be positive and say August. Or at least before tron opens.

Well I pulled the trigger this past weekend and ordered the WL-themed MagicBands. As we're under 70 days, didn't want to wait and then scramble at the end. Plus if you've been watching the MB inventory in the My Disney Experience site, it seems like they sell out rather quickly. About a week ago, if I recall correctly, they were down to a dozen or so choices - now they were back to over 20+.

Question for all of you here: When did they stop including sounds on the limited edition MagicBands?

Because I'm looking at new bands like the Easter one and thinking to myself, the old Easter band had sounds of like bunny hops and Mickey laughing from what I can remember.....why doesn't this new one?

And it got me to thinking on why they don't have sound effects anymore?

From what I can remember, I think the last one with a sound effect was the Runaway Railway neon sign one with the train whistle sound. Could be wrong though.

When did the Magic Bands include sound?

Limited release are just lower quantities. I believe the other ones were called limited edition or special edition

Perhaps they pivoted this technology to magicband+ to make it seem more premium when you scan it?

Although, it truly is a missed opportunity for the Pride Magic Band to yell "yaaaasss" every time you scan. They'd make buckets.

Well, I mean whichever ones included the sounds when you scanned them at select turnstiles.

For instance:

I'm saying you should check the verbiage in each offering. Limited edition magic bands used to play sounds when you tapped in, but I don't think they've been selling those anymore since they switched over the ticketing systems. I have a glow in the dark Nightmare one from years ago that plays some sounds. All the new ones that are pitched with a higher price say "Limited Release", which just means there are fewer of them.

I think they basically stopped selling the ones with the sounds because then they have to keep them functioning in perpetuity.
