Remember, that like the afternoon parade test a while back, this is just a test, but may well be used at a later date.

If it's gonna be part of xPass (or whatever they end up calling it), they need to test it. Not really surprising.

Does anyone know the location of the VIP area's?

Since if they make my fireworks viewing area fastpass only then I will be seriously ticked...

So as part of a 'test' that probably coincides with my trip, I might not be able to watch Wishes from my favorite location that was always accessible in the past because I didn't happen to get lucky?

I was indifferent to xPass before, and might even be willing to pay for it. But this just became personal.

How in the world are they going to enforce this? Especially for Wishes. Short of putting up walls with limited in/out access, how can you possibly keep an open air area contained? Even if you put up ropes, what's to keep someone from just d__________g under anyway? The whole thing is just absurd. :brick:

Not that I'm in favor of this, but don't they have a fastpass system for World of Color at California Adventure?

Forward of Partners? I've always viewed that as a crappy viewing spot. I perfer to be on Main Street just in front of Casey's. If you are in front of the Partner's Statue, some of the pyro is blocked. Odd pick.

Honestly, this was pretty inevitable. Disney sees people sitting, waiting for Wishes and the MSEP 3 hours before showtime and would surely prefer that people spent that time on a couple rides (happier guests), in shops, and eating.

I also think they will HAVE to keep this free now. Imagine the outrage if you paid a ton for XPass and rain canceled the fireworks...

On the other hand, if it's free to anyone and basically handled like a lottery, I have no problem with it. There are a limited number of seats, but if I'm able to get a reserved seat to fireworks even once during my week-long vacation, and I was able to get that for free, then I'm a happy camper. The other 6 nights of my trip, I'll grab a seat as I normally would.

The negative response to every new thing is a bit much...especially before the test has even begun.

They'll do it the same way they do this for every other nighttime show. If you have a roped in area and CMs to keep people out, people stay out (or are escorted out by security).

Wishes will be in the hub in the area forward of Partners. The other two spots will also be in the hub.

Not that I like this idea at all, but at least my fav Wishes viewing spot is still ok. The hub by Partners is too close to the castle - the castle blocks some of the lower effects from view.

Yes, and I wouldn't be as annoyed with this test if there was actually a way to fairly get one of those fastpasses (show up early enough, pay a fee, etc).

What's this random assignment supposed to prove to anyone? That people would use a fastpass for Wishes if they had one? How will this possibly correlate to the concept of xPass, where you'd have to pay for privileges like this?
