Someone with very deep pockets is doing a park wide buyout of MK on October 22. Park closes to day guests at 6pm, and the event takes place from 7pm to 11pm.

Guests are staying at Epcot area resorts.

Someone is dropping millions of dollars to celebrate with own park to themselves, food, drink and probably fireworks show. No waiting in lines for them except at the open bar!

It's been 6-7 years now since I've been retired, but I used to attend the annual Cisco Networking Conference. It rotated through Orlando every 2-3 years. For their customer appreciation event, I know that they rented out one of the Universal Parks at least twice when I attended. A little foggy on WDW, but they may have rented out DHS during one of the conferences for the customer event...it's all a bit of a distant blur. LOL

Was this early closure only announced today, 5 days in advance, or has the early closure been advertised to guests for some time?

I think the perimeters are out until Tron is done. One of the reasons for the new shows is to "tighten" the perimeters since they can't launch from behind SM right now.

Possibly at least 6 figures. About 15 years ago I asked a CM at DHS how much does it cost to have a private Beauty and the Beast show at DHS. 30K.

The closing time was known at least as far back as August. There was a post on another forum from August mentioning it was closing at 6 and the OP was wondering why.

So, at least it was not a last minute surprise.
