Citris swirls are being served. The cookies that went in them are a casualty of Covid. I'm sure they will never come back. Too bad because they were a nice addition.

I don’t remember the cookies ever being a thing?

I remember cherries with the dole whips back in the day...
The cookies were in the last 2 years. They were kind of a mix between a sugar cookie and A butter cookie they were crispy and had some sort of a coating on them so they didn't get soggy they were good. Also they had a character like goofy or Donald printed on them.

I dont rememer the cherry on the Dole Whip. How long ago was that?

Ah ok... I guess I haven’t gotten a citrus swirl in a year or 2? Definitely could be the case. Or maybe I did and forgot about the cookie? Ha.

The cherries were within the past 5 years at Disneyland. I’m actually trying to remember if I ever got one at WDW....

We cannot afford to wait any longer. This was the right decision! The central Florida economy simply cannot withstand theme park closings in the long run. Bravo Disney (and other parks) for reopening. It's keeping many amazing people from losing their homes and livelihood :)
Not everyone who works at WDW have been recalled back. The ones that did are the lucky ones.

If we dont get control NOW the economy is going to tank completely, and when that happens the same people rushing to open things right now and choosing to ignore the severity of it right now are going to be the ones saying "Why didn't anyone do anything about the virus?!?!"
I think the most likely scenario moving forward is this: The horrible negative outcome numbers increase faster and faster over the next week. More and more people realize they correlate to the skyrocketing case count from the last month. Press coverage of WDW deteriorates further - we probably start to see stories about sick guests and CMs. Texas locks down. WDW closes, a few hours before Florida locks down. I think this process takes about three weeks.

What I don't know is what happens after that. It is unlikely to be pleasant, although I am absolutely convinced the country - and Disney - will survive.

I DON'T WANT THIS TO HAPPEN. If negative outcome numbers decline, I will apologize profusely and will be happy to do so.

I've thus far heard nothing but positives about the guest experience save for some complaints about the crowd at gate opening. Now, perhaps all the people seeing the low crowd will cause higher crowds to come. Or perhaps people will be afraid and the current levels are where Disney is keeping the reservations.

But it was known it would be a small dribble at first. You can't go from stop to a run. They needed to get the mechanisms working and going, and even if they're losing money now, they'll be prepared for when things calm down. When that will be, I have no idea. But at the moment, things seem pretty safe. It's nothing like I've been hearing from the other parks where masks are being completely ditched.

I hope I don't get banned for this one.

No footlongs!

Merida's back on her Horse just about 15 min ago! Saw it on a YT Stream!

Could you tell if it was the same... friend of... Merida? How does this work when they're in costume? XD

I think one of the reasons people aren't buying the "Why can't Disney reopen when Universal Orlando and SeaWorld are open for weeks" argument is that Disney is *far bigger* land-wise than those two parks and a "reduced capacity" would still mean crowds that SeaWorld and Uni get on a regular day (Disney is *packed* almost every single day; managing crowds is next-to-impossible there, as opposed to Uni and SeaWorld which don't have that much guests to begin with).
Okay but it’s not packed anymore? There’s a reservation system so they only admit the number of people they’re comfortable with?
