I believe that RoE has been added to over the past 2-3 years. New lasers have dramatically improved the show and those lasers aren't cheap either. @marni1971 can confirm what they have done.

I believe that RoE has been added to over the past 2-3 years. New lasers have dramatically improved the show and those lasers aren't cheap either. @marni1971 can confirm what they have done.
Six new lasers. Multiple lighting tweaks. Lighting reprogramming here and there. There's a desire to go full LED too should the budget be given.
New audio system
The return of ALF. For the first 3 charges only lest someone thinks otherwise.
Obviously too quite a lot of product changes, due to remits coming down from far above the local crew.
Further back as well there's the new globe HD screens, and a new inferno barge (not that they had much choice with the latter)

Oh I'm very aware of the fantastic updates. The best show in Disney history got even better! I know a lot of people take issue with some of the shell changes but I'm satisfied with them for the most part. However, I'd like to see the Earth Barge get another refresh, and those fountains are desperately outmatched by today's fountain tech. They don't even need a huge installation to re-do the fountains as they could do things like Tokyo's Fantasmic or even Rivers of Light to bring ROE's pitiful little fountains up to standards. I'd also love for them to figure out a way to do the pastel colors and the screamers nightly. Martin, I'm sure you can answer this- why were both of those elements cut? They're still in the Peace on Earth tag so their vendor must still produce those things. Noise/pollution I'm guessing?
That's what I believe. Getting things below a certain threshold.
I had been so hoping a new nite parade would be announced before Spring. The Electric Light parade should never have left unless they had a replacement. My kids are not happy to know its gone.

There might be if the service and quality cuts were not continuing. The WDW i grew up with had something NEW added everytime i visited and that continued till about 2010,
After that its been an endless succession of whats been cut THIS time a favorite dish, show or attraction
WDW cut 1 parade per year till we are down to 1 daytime parade at WDW, Wishes is about to be replaced with some sure to be pathetic show. Streetmosphere has been decimated. And somehow i'm supposed to think these changes are for the best.

I agree. MSEP really should stick around a little bit longer either at DL or MK. Keep MSEP at DL and send PTN to MK or send MSEP back to MK, whatever, while MK builds their new nighttime parade. It's so ridiculous to have two light parades currently on the west coast and DL doesn't even Need a light parade. Unlike MK, DL has the ability to run their daytime parade (Soundsational) at night with the onboard float lighting and parade route lighting. Plus they will have the new Fantasmic debuting this summer, which is Sure to be majorly popular.
Buut I get it that DL owns both parades and it's not their problem that the east coast is light paradeless. Of course there's the chance TDO didn't want MSEP anymore and didn't care to try and borrow PTN.

Agreed on the state of parades, but the second part of your sentence tells me all I need to know. You've already made up your mind that things will be awful going forward and now you're just going to take any minor example to justify your world view. Listen, I've been hanging out here, a while... What's amazing is people said the EXACT same thing when Wishes replaced the previous nighttime show. Look where we are just a few years later. While some replaces were indeed for the worse (Horizons, Alien Encounter) they weren't all bad. All of this is to say thay maybe one day you'll be able to gain some perspective on all of this and take the good with the bad. As I've said before, managent is FAR from perfect but you honestly don't know bad unless you were here for Eisner's final years, and we're no where near those levels.
So yes. WDW has Fantasmic, Star Wars fireworks, Illuminations, Wishes and now RoL. But once DLR gets Fantasmic back, they should just be happy with that and WOC.
Be honest. WDW didn't want to pay for running a night parade in the MK right now.

Unfortunately that's likely the case. Maybe having MSEP back for the summer or PTN was a option but they turned it down.

I see why Wdw doesn't feel like they need MSEP right now... MKs attendance is already jammed and they need to spread it out.. they've just completed a 1 billion dollar expansion at AK in Pandora not to mention all the night time upgrades to the park including Alive with Magic and of course Rivers of Light. AK will have EMH every night starting soon, during the summer. People on this board like to spread doom and gloom talking about all the thing WDW has cut but never seem to recognize what is new. You gotta take the good with the bad... not just the bad. MSEP is nice, but a full day park at AK is better, imo,

As much as I see lots of criticism of Disney as baseless (I know, pixie duster/paid corporate shill)- there's really no excuse for the parade situation around the resort. Especially for the lack of a night parade at MK. It's terrible. I don't even care much for them, but the park is still missing something when it's not there.

Has the speaker been fixed by the Norway Pavilion? There was a dead one from at least September to January.

Replace that with CERTAINTY that TDO did not want a nighttime parade
Cutting the night time parade 'saved' millions of dollars on the entertainment budget and generated fat bonus checks to TDO executives.
As to guest experiece 'guests will come no matter what we cut'

I have heard the possible plan for the ALL NEW parade was originally 2018/2019 but has now backed up to coincide with the 50th. Sound about right? I have also heard that, if the situation dictates, it may be pulled in again versus 'borrowing' a parade from another site.
