Disney Glimpses

Right... even if Disney wanted to start fireworks tomorrow, could they?
  • They don't seem to have enough employees to extend hours to when it's dark.
  • Do they have enough fireworks on-site? How long do they take to order and arrive?
  • Launchers were removed from the aux sites, what's the state of the primary?
  • Do they have employees off furlough to run the show? Did they find new jobs while off for 15 months? How long to train new ones?
From what I understand it's a CM problem to handle the crowds before during and after the shows, they've been quietly preparing the pyro overnight.

They can be compared in many ways. However there are differences too. So it’s not as simple as saying if Universal and Sea World can do night shows right now so can Disney. It may take them longer because they need to setup the logistics to move people around and you can’t just hire someone off the street to drive a bus. Having all that land is both a gift and a curse.
Of course there are differences. If there were no differences it wouldn’t be a comparison lol.

I don’t know anyone in transportation but I haven’t heard anyone “in the know” blame the lack of fireworks on the bus situation.

The bus driver situation is Disney’s own doing... I’m glad it’s coming back to bite them.

I would be more glad if it wasn't also biting me.

I’m not someone in the know. It’s just logical. There is a known issue with a shortage of buses to the point that they have increased using larger charter buses at resorts more often. Without night shows there isn’t as much of a rush at park closing since people leave at various times. In “normal times” Disney would send surge buses to the parks at the end of day after the night show let out to deal with the excess crowds. Without night shows there is much less of a closing surge. I‘m not saying I think that’s the only factor, just one potential factor why it’s easier to have nighttime shows at Sea World or Universal.

Yeah things definitely seem and feel as though Disney was not prepared for how fast Covid has improved.
Is it that or is TDO still trying to avoid a PR Disaster? Wasn't that was like the main reason for Disney not following CineCele and SWO Holiday Pyro late last year? WDW Pyro "should" make Ignite's season this year but our insiders are not saying Stuff should already be running.

He took everything that Martin and others posted here on the forums, used it on his YouTube shows without crediting them (and all the time making money off what they said). He then threw a strop here and stormed off - at least 2 or 3 times. And then came back on under a new name pretending to be someone on the inside, until he was rumbled.

It was partly thanks to him, and others doing the same thing, that some of our insiders stopped posting as much info on here.
This is a backstory I never knew about.

Interesting.

How do we know 100% that Brayden was THAT poster though?
I assume you mean the account he returned under? Tbh I can’t remember who and how he was found out but that account was a distraction.

His tirade against this site on Twitter though was the real killer. Someone who mouths off in public about the forum is understandably not going to be Mr Popular.

Hopefully the college program coming back will help some. They can’t get college kids to drive buses but they can use them for crowd control and to extend park hours.
These cast work the late shifts that others don't want to work. In regards to the lack of bus drivers no-one can be that naive to think these drivers would be on the payroll for all this time getting regular pay for doing nothing while the parks were closed then start to drive the bus again. These cast were furloughed for an extended period of time collecting unemployment but for many it was not the same as their regular full time check. Disney had to make difficult staffing calls including layoffs.

While it’s far from the only factor, I can say with 100% certainty that transportation is one reason that the parks all have staggered closing times. The supporting equipment is being moved around throughout the evening to provided maximum capacity where it matters most.
