I actually wondered that. Everything is so homogenized it isnt funny.
You can find stuff from one park in the other, hardly any exclusives now.

After visiting Tokyo, I have learned what truly homogenized merchandise is. It's going to be a while before I complain about WDW's merchandise selections.

Just feel like dropping in and reminding folks that WDW isn't 50 until 2021.

WDW turns 45 this October 1st. And it won't be acknowledged at all beyond LE merchandise, much of which will wind up at the outlets and being blogged about by that Derek Burgan dude.

LOL. I just made a joke about that merchandise on the "Budget cuts joke thread."

Yeah, I guess it is a long time until the 50th anniversary but we can at least dream. All of the construction projects will be completed by then and Disney can throw a *huge* celebration.

I don't know exactly when Entertainment changed Goofy's autograph, but it was literally YEARS til Merchandise finally made the switch.

Oh, wow. That's pretty bad. It's "we don't know our own characters"-bad. I thought someone was complaining about how the characters in the parks sign his name and I was going to say that it's lucky that they can scribble anything through the mask and the gloves. I didn't realize it was a company-wide thing.

I'm pretty sure that I was one of the VERY few Beasts that would sign back when he met in France. Even then, Belle had to hand me the book and marker in a very specific manner. Now that he's solo at Be Our Guest, I rather doubt any of them sign.

We're definitely planning on going for the October 1 day-of anniversary. Hopefully they do some really cool stuff. Please no birthday cake. I was there for that too and I remember it looked ridiculous (even as a kid).

The 40th didn't have much for the day of so I wouldn't expect it here either.

That's because it was 40. 50 seems like a larger milestone to me. Even if they don't do anything on the day of - it will be special to be there on that day.

It's been a few years, and this is an attempt with a screen and mouse instead of pen and paper, but that's better than anything else I could find online. There's supposed to be a sort of squiggly under it like most of the royals have, but I could never get that right.

That's because it appeals more to the Japanese visitors since they are more fond with certain Disney characters who are popular in that country mainly Chip N Dale.
