For the record:

I don't mind Grizzly's post. I'm not the biggest CoP fan either though.

People need to get off it and over it. If you don't like hearing the same things, don't visit theme park forums. Almost every question asked here is the same thing that has been said many time in many ways.

Stick to the trivia and new threads if you don't want any (major) rehashes.

Cuz it gives us something to do? Notice how i'm not complaining about them complaining either. Everyone can say whatever they want, as long as they aren't spouting false information, they're okay in my book.

Sorry to ignite this thread - this was never my intention.....(NOR was wanting attention). The island of conclusions is past capacity this evening!! Here's an explanation for those of you who want to read it:

First off, I don't see myself saying how I miss old attractions so much. When I talk about Horizons, WOM, or JII, it's in a specific thread about it. I am not a person who posts this in random threads...or even start threads about missing attractions. I am not sure where this is coming from...

My recent posts have been about a neat MK Trip Report with news, the Disney economic situation, Favorite Shows, Vault Disney, the Bedknobs Soundtrack, the themes of love and dislike at the parks, Ride Videos, Ratings, Lilo and Stitch and IASW, Haunted Mansion, JRR Tolkein, Starbucks, and Audio Animatronics. This has been five pages of posts on a post search. The only nostalgia posts I've posted in the last two weeks have been in the "Shedding Tears" thread.

As for the COP/CBJ discussion, I haven't talked much about those lately either. But, I thought this was a neat thing that a message in the forums could go to the forums, and then taken by Disney. It's not only about the COP; it shows how posters on these forums can make a difference. Whenever I talk about change...or past memories...I always add new themes and deminsions.

So, as the other say, block me if you don't like what I say. It's okay...but what I'm not cool with is this fighting. Remember, Magic Happens more often than we think!

What I mean was...people are saying that's all I talk about. Wishing things could come back (actually, not even that...it was missing attractions and explaining how a few others don't match up)...etc. It's really not, unless it's in a thread about old attractions! That's what I was trying to prove.

I personally think grizz does a good job of keeping is love affair with nostalgia in threads where it is applicable. I happen to enjoy reading his posts. If he was simply being an idiot about when and where he post stuff about CoP and Horizons, etc. I would not be interested in reading them.

*Yawn*

PS: Ya know why they got rid of Toad, Horizons, WOM, 20K, etc etc....cuz they SUCKED...no one is pushing the 'nuke' buttons on these attractions without comprehensive studies, guest surveys, and cost analysis that tells them that they couldn't cut it...Other than JIYI, every replacement attraction has been far superior technologically and appeal...If Disney keeps the old rides, Disney dies cuz Disney needs attractions that draw...there are generations of kids coming along that Disney needs to appeal to and I, for one, am glad that guys like Griz aren't calling the shots in Anaheim.

*yawn.....what a friggin' bore*

Tramp - I never said Horizons should remain for ever. Or Toad...or Journey into Imagination.

I am quite a fan of change.

In fact, I've spent months designing new attractions which not only attract new guests, but bring back the old - taking old ideas, taking them to new heights, as one of my friends puts it. While Test Track is popular, it isn't enough - it drowns out themes, original fans, and such. When there's a change, it must exceed the old attraction to most guests (especially those who liked the originals and those who would like new) and make up for a treasure lost.

I hope you catch my drift. Changes like Toad are okay with me. Changes like the Tiki Room are not - - - it throws a new taste in and an old taste out...and especially since Tiki Room was one of Walt's originals! :)

Since we're combining threads, I guess I'll HAVE To do this...especially for Maria... :p

Steamboat wrote this about me - and it is exactly what my outlook on change is:

"You know I've watched person after person criticize Grizzly Hall- that he wants to build a shrine to extinct Disney attractions, can't move on, etc.

...

I feel that when he sees an attraction torn down and replaced with an attraction of a lesser quality and level of innovation it's heart wrenching because it just doesn't make sense, degrades the Disney product and insults the consumer.

...

He seems to want to see the original attractions inspire new creations that capture the essence of the original and take it to new heights.

I personally believe that his longing for extinct attractions isn't about going back to an over-idealized "golden age", but actually a longing for a product that built upon the successes of the originals- take what made the originals of such a Disney quality and just up that unmatched Disney quality level even further."

I know, I repeated it, but that comment about the shrine made me do it.

Wow....This is like talking to a brick wall, isn't it??

You have quite the sense of humor...don't you...Do we have selected hearing or what? Pick and choose? I don't understand.

Test Track not only exceeds what it replaced, it dwarfs it in popularity...I can't even remember what WOM was all about....TOAD...most kids say, Who is TOAD?.....POOH is far superior than those cardboard cutouts and it appeals to TODAY"S kids....you don't seem to catch that drift....and TIKI was old, outdated ....bringing in the new characters brings it into the 21st century and new kids can relate to characters that they have seen in the movies....

Here's the drift.....it's not all about YOUR feelings........no one is more nostalgic than me but I'm sure glad they improved on the Model T .

yeah...we ALL catch your drift...so maybe now we won't hear about this for the rest of the year.

...I'm done with this forever!

...I LIKE CHANGE AS LONG AS NOTHING CHANGES!
