I didn't mean to sound demeaning, btw. I realize I kinda rubbed off the way, saying that I was talking about Plato and not Socrates. I just failed to explain that I'm explicitly talking about Plato's philosophy. It's hard determining whether Plato accepted the Forms so well as Socrates. It seems to me that he ended up being somewhere in the middle of the road between Socrates and Aristotle in the end.

No worries. Philosophy has been heated since it was created

I wish these people would just settle on something already!

Oh...see...I haven't seen many classics...probably in part to how boring Citizen Kane was!

And I just don't get why it was such a big deal?

Easy, pompous elitists like to glorify borings things common people don't care for to make themselves seem smart. It's like Emperor's new clothes... but with a movie!

I've never read Aristophanes, but I'll take your word for it.

:ROFLOL: Why can't we all just make up our minds?!

Aristophanes wrote a play about Socrates during his time that shows us the historical figure of Socrates and how the Greeks perceived him. It's right on point with how Plato perceived Socrates and the things he talked about.

But if it's so boring...then how can any one pay attention to the fact that it was done beautifully?

And stop tempting me with cookies...b/c I'm at home now and I've got the cookies in the fridge that I just break apart and bake. And I need to wait for WHF to come home before I start eating crap!
