Magic Friends...Remembering Bonny

Hey Samie!

Thanks, Betty. I've actually given it alot of thought today after hearing from Dana and talking to a couple of my other friends who have had them and to my parents. I'm leaning towards not having it, but I need to talk to DH because we haven't really talked about it together yet and I don't really know his thoughts on it. For me it absolutely wouldn't change anything. I've heard, seen, and felt the baby (Saturday, just little butterfly flutter that for the first time I KNOW weren't gas ) so there's no way it would change anything.
My Dad actually had a very good point. He said that even if we get a good result from this test and are assured that we have a healthy baby, you never know until the baby is born if there are going to be other complications/special needs (autism, deafness, blindness, etc). You just never know, but that's just part of having children and you deal with whatever you're given and know that you won't be given any more than you can handle.
He makes a very good point.

I just went back over some of the threads and read all of the lovely things everyone had to say about Bonny. She sounds like such a wonderful person and it is a shame that I never got to know her. Her family and friends are in my prayers during this hard time.
I had always wondered who had "founded" or "brought together" Magic Friends. Now I know it was Bonny who started Magic Friends. I wish I could thank Bonny for introducing such an awesome group of people to me.
Rest In Peace Bonny, you are greatly loved and missed.

From what I understand, she passed out over the weekend. There was something wrong with her thyroid (?), and her body went into toxic shock because of the medications she was taking. They tried dialysis, but it didn't work. Andrew decided to sign the organ donor papers today (that's what Bonny wanted).

Wow...that's awful. :(

yes it is. :lookaroun

:(

I just want everyone's opinion on something. Registration is open for the 2010 WDW marathons. I am seriously considering doing either the Family Fun Run 5K or the WDW Half Marathon. But I don't know how I would do. Any suggestions?

Your dad is right - I know this is a decision between your DH and you, but I'm just not convinced of the reliability of an amnio...and having been through a miscarriage, I wouldn't wish it on anyone and refused any procedure that even slightly increased the risk of it. As you said it wouldn't change anything - refer to my siggy - if your child would have any kind of special need, they still have a precious gift to give the world.

Night Samie!

Hey Jenny!

BTW, I keep getting you and Samie confused with your water & sunsets

Sorry - just seemed like a sunset was an appropriate avvy right now.

Do you have the time to train for it Jo?

How much do you run, Jo?

I don't know. I would like to get some time in (that would help on the losing-weight front). And I probably would lean more towards the 5K, since it's shorter.
See, along with needles, I am also allergic to running. I follow a strict motto of "Never run unless being chased...by something very scary". So I would opt for neither, personally

Can you back out later if you decide you can't do it. I would sign up and train then back out if you can't do it but give it your all.

I love that motto - you know there's a running part on the Wii Fit - you jog in place beside the board, holding the remote.....still don't like running.

So the little 'munk is fluttering now? How exciting! :sohappy::sohappy: Someday he/she will be swinging from your rib cage...

Not kidding. :lookaroun

I don't think I could do a 1k!
Please. I was panting out of breath just from running up 2 flights of stairs last night.

:ROFLOL: That's a funny thought. Yeah, I kept hearing about the "flutters" and thinking I felt them but then it was always just gas.:eek: This was a completely different feeling and was very fast...well, flutters really is the only way to describe it. It happened several times on Saturday but I haven't really noticed it since.
