So my mom called my cell phone last night to see if we're coming this week. I had to remind her (for the 187th time) that we're coming on the14th. Then she starts telling me where she'll hide the key if she's not home. I reminded her again how we've rented a house, like we have for the past 10 years because we won't all fit in her house. She was surprised and didn't remember that we ever rented a house before.

Memory is such a funny thing. She remembers the basics about your visits but it's like her fine tuning has quit.

Sometimes she's more lucid than others - last night wasn't one of those times.
I talked to my brother down there last night, and he mentioned that he had told her that he was planning a trip to my nephew's in Pennsylvania for May or June. The next morning he went over to my mother's and she was all dressed, packed, and ready to go. :lol:

Oh my. :lol: I guess it's best to give her small doses of information at a time. And maybe don't let her in your plans too far ahead of time.

That's what we do. It does no good to tell her stuff ahead of time because she either forgets or misunderstands. My brother and his wife are saints for handling her the way they do. She could never function without them keeping tabs on her.

I'm really, really tired tonight. So I think I'll go finish up a few last minute things then snuggle down with "Grey's Anatomy", probably falling asleep before it's over. I'm soooo exciting.

Abby update:
She forgot to take her lunch to school, so we took it down and while there spoke with the principal face to face. He had already addressed matters with this girl, and while he wasn't allowed to tell us exactly what he said, he did tell us when she left his office, she was trembling. (is it wrong that I hope she had to make a quick stop at the bathroom on the way back to class? ) He also confiscated her cell phone (YES!) and will be looking for anything inappropriate on that. Since she texted Abby from her Yahoo account, I don't think there will be, but there may be messages of her shooting her mouth off about it to others on her cell. And they will be monitoring things very closely - he is not messing around and I appreciate that. And I hope he passed on to her what we said about pressing charges. She may be full of hot air about the whole thing, but we are NOT.

Glad everything was taken care of!

Evening, everyone. Back from a day at Disney's Hollywood Studios. Rode GMR 3 times and paid close attention to what the Tour Guides do. I'm still nervous about doing that role myself next week and I hope things turn out just fine.

It's a possible job photographing newborns at the hospital. Like remember what they did when your girls were born? Well, it's all different now...it's a lot more "photo-shooty"...and that's what I'd be doing.
