And??? It seems to invoke a rather strong reaction for or against, so I'm curious to hear what you think.....

Mike and I did a little more talking about summer vacation and figured out a probable budget of going to Orlando.....yep, definitely more affordable to only do one major trip.....now we just wait to see when HP will be open at Universal.
Um...I'm about halfway through Breaking Dawn, I wanted to wait until I finished that before I gave it a full review...however, that being said...

I really like the last two books. (Or what I've read of Breaking Dawn, so far anyway...which has taken a different turn than I thought would happen) I think the first two move incredibly slowly. In all of them, but especially the first two, it seems like you're reading and reading and reading and you wonder, when the heck is the action going to take place.

I don't know how strong of a reaction I have towards them though. Like they're decent books and I appreciate them on that level. It's not a story that would bore me...however, I'm not IN LOVE or IN HATE with them either. I think I'm going to need to see the movies now to come away with a real feeling on what I think of the books. I think I'm going to need to see how visually it all plays out and that will help.

I definitely think, as of right now, that Harry Potter is the better series.

So, did I tell you I'm reading the Twilight Saga?

First of all :sohappy:

And you're 100% right Harry Potter is a better series.
Eclipse and Breaking Dawn were my 2 favorites too.

I'm re-reading HP now actually trying to get out of my reading-rut.

Oh and on the TS movies...the Twilight one isn't great. Which I honestly didn't realize until I saw New Moon which is awesome. Seeing the movie, made me like the book more.

Honestly? Twilight - the movie - is not that great. It's okay, but not great. There was so much MORE they could have done, but the only thing I can say in its defense, was the casting was pretty good, and the score written for the film was better than New Moon's score, IMO. However, New Moon was a better film. A Twilight blog I visit occasionally absolutely HATES the screenwriter for these films and never misses an opportunity to call for this woman's head on a platter. I think she wrote the films assuming everybody has read the books and can 'fill-in-the-blanks' when needed.
Eclipse/Breaking Dawn are my favorite books in the series as well....I'm really looking forward to Eclipse when it hits the theaters in June. And there's no comparison to Harry Potter. Completely different styles of writing....and of the two, I'll pick HP. I was just telling Abby today, when we were talking about what we wanted to see at Uni/HP, that Twilight is more of a current fad, but HP has more staying power, y'know? Nothing against Stephenie Meyer, I just prefer JK Rowling.
Gosh, sorry, didn't mean to babble on....

New Moon is my least favorite book, so we'll see what I think when I see the movie. I'm anxious to see them on the big screen now. To see what I missed while reading the books.

That's exactly how I feel about the HP series...it has more staying power. And I feel that way all the more after reading the Twilight saga. That feels more fadish, while HP feels like it has real legs. And for anyone who thinks HP will be a fad, I will now be more clear on how to explain how it isn't a fad at all.

I'm too looking forward to seeing Eclipse in theaters though.

I wanted to finish the books though before I saw any of the movies. I'll still be able to see New Moon in theaters though, at least at the dollar show.

Yes all my friends love the Sookie Stackhouse books- they're on my never ending list. Being in my reading-rut I haven't been able to start them yet.

I also have been recently read the Wedding Quartet (so far only 2 of 4 are out) by Nora Roberts. They're fluff, but I really like them- Its about 4 childhood friends who live in CT and start this Wedding Business at one's family estate- they just remind me how I wish I was a wedding planner. :) The 2 books that are out are Vision in White and Bed of Roses.

I've heard that those are grittier...and good as well.
Yeah but be warned that they are not for the faint of heart, I mean Charlene Harris, is very umm detailed oriented when it comes to her love scences, as well as her killing/death scenes. Sooo, if that doesn't bother you than yeah they are AMAZING!

Yeah I'm in one too. I found them after my best friend Blair introduced me to the HBO show True Blood and I watched it and LOVED it! Then one night I saw they were all based off these books and so I went and bought them...ALL of them and I had 8 of the 9 main books read and I tried several times to read the last one but kept getting stuck so I give up for a while and Blair read the 8 other ones and then stole 9 and the short stories from me. But the cable box in my bedroom died last night, brand new box literally 2 weeks old and it died... so mad, so I started reading the Disneyland imagineering book and now I want Sookie back, but I have to wait...:(

Hello, Magic friends! Some of you remember me when I posted on these forums as TheLadyBadger. Well, I've decided to activate a new account and start fresh. I'm still a WDW CM currently in QSR at Magic Kingdom but I will be moving to Attractions at DHS next month, which I am incredibly excited about. Hope everyone is still doing good and have a very magical evening. :)
