I'm nervous about being put out though too. I've never had it happen before.

I got put out when I got my wisdom teeth out.
I was so nervous about it, that I actually passed out before they even put me out. Yes..I am lame!

Anyways, it is kind of neat. They stick this thing in your hand and it pumps the stuff in and for about 5 seconds you get all hot, then you feel itchy all over for another 5 seconds, then you are like hey I am floating in space now and then....your out!

Bunny, how cute!!!! I love them!
:o

That's great Jo! Counting on them paying for it?

Absolutely! I would have hated to spend the $6,000 I've heard some people fork over, but if that was the lowest price I could find--though it would hurt--it would still be worth the money. It's just so freeing to be able to see without glasses or contacts. When that's all you know for pretty much your entire life, being able to wake up in the morning and just see or fall asleep watching television or go right to be without having to take out and clean contacts... it's just amazing! I can't say enough about it really.

I'd love to talk my mom into getting it done, but she's got astigmatism too and would still have to have glasses.

They knocked me out when I had my wisdom teeth out. I didn't feel a thing. Actually it wasn't too bad at all.. except I got 2 dry sockets and those hurt like the dickens. :zipit:

I also got dry socket and it was probably the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life.
I could not eat for about 3 weeks. I had to go back to the dentist and they had to stick these medicated strips under my gums. Then everytime I chewed this minty nastiness squirted out and pretty much ruined every piece of food I could even eat.

Well, we haven't discussed that yet.:lookaroun

That's why I want to get it done too. I have had glasses for over half my life, and I can NOT do contacts. I would love to just get it taken care of once and for all.

When I got my wisdom teeth pulled I was put under, but not by gas. It was an injection. But I woke up about 20 minutes later and didn't feel a thing!

I'm so happy I just went through with it that day. I'd be worrying about it now if I didn't do it all at once. I highly recommend it. And there's no needles involved! ;)
I like the no needle thing. :D

Although you're right...the whole idea of the procedure can make someone a little squeemish.

well, my mom used to be a dental hygenist...so she can help me to avoid getting dry sockets. She knows exactly what to do.

They can correct most astigmatisms. They did mine.

Why can't you wear contacts Jo?

I don't remember it feeling weird. I remember counting backwards from 100 and getting to 98.
When I had a procedure done last year though, I remember thinking whatever they put in my IV felt cold and I could feel it foing through my veins. I was out seconds later though.

Gotta run!

Talk to you guys later!

be back in a bit...forgot to sign a page on my new mortgage. (grumbles...one stupid page...)
Bye guys!

Well, for one thing, I don't like the thought of having to keep stick my fingers in my eyes over and over. For another, it still doesn't solve the shower/at night issue. Getting Lasik would solve those.
If I showered during the middle of the day I would keep my contacts in. But I tell you (guys--this might be TMI...), when I shaved my legs for the first time after LASIK, it was AWESOME! I culd actually see what I was doing!
