Magic Bands in November

We're doing a split stay, will we have to order Magic Bands twice or will they carry over to the second part of the trip?

I have 2 MB orders showing up, one for each reservation of my upcoming split stay. I'm not sure if I have to take both. But I want both so I can get different colors and change the active band.

My understanding is that once I have both sets of bands in hand, I will be able to log in to MDE and switch which one is active.

On the phone with tech support now. Apparently the system is allowing multiple Magic Band orders to people who split their reservations. Reservations told me only 1 set needed will be needed and they have a battery life of three years, so thats why she sent me to tech support.. The original reason for my call was that the second reservation number didn't match mine, but apparenty even though I booked a package, the seperate entities of that package have their own confirmation numbers. As I'm typing tech support just told me I will get 2 sets, but only need to use 1.. Seems like a waste to me. She told me just bring the second set with me and turn them in when I check in. ????? They can be customized again??

Nah, they will just wait until you book next year and send you the unused ones again. Either that or wait for another guest named Dubman to request the same color band.

That seems rather bizarre, but I'm sure it's one of the kinks they need to work out before going full live.

We did our FP selections and magic bands! Everything went smooth FP wise, and the site was surprisingly more fast than I ever remembered it being. Maybe they fixed it finally I assumed...not even close! MB took forever to customize because the band animation for choosing different colors was extremely slow!

Thanks for the answer. It makes the most sense that only 1 would be needed, I bet it's a glitch in the system that's allowing people to order 2 sets.

We are booked for nov 12-17, once you hit th 60 day mark and do online check in, all those features should be available to you...

We are booked Nov 18 - 23 and can choose our FastPass + online but the system is slow and keeps not showing the choices I make!

Also, we are traveling with another family and it has been impossible so far to "link" our My Disney Experience accounts which stinks b/c that is supposed to be one of the advantages of this new system. ughhhh!!!

Have you mad your FP selections yet? I believe if you are done makin your selectins and click on the FP link again it should bring up a screen that asks you if you want to do several things, one of them being linking accounts...

Also if you are having trouble with the site, change your browser to another, this helps as well with the speed.

They cannot be rescustomized but they can be recycled which they are id you them into the front desk. If you want, you can get both sets and 2 different colors and then wear them interchangeably during your stay. You can have multiple bands all linked to your account that will work during your stay.

Our disney trip is november 10 to nov 17 and we got to customize our magic bands. So super excited. We r staying at pop for 1 night then the rest at all star movies. We had to do 2 different reservations due to the free dining special day. So there are 3 in our family but due to 2 reservations we get 6 magic bands.3 for pop and 3 for all star. We also already did the fastpass +. It was super easy and fast to do. We got all the colors of the bands except for grey. Can't wait only 46 more days

Right there with ya! ASMo Nov 12-17. Since u have 2 desperate resos, there is a glitch in th system allowing guests with multiple reservations to get multiple bands, but most people who have called to question it have been told to use only 1 set and return the second set at the front desk when checking in...I would call just to clarify if it will be alright to use both bands per person, you wouldn't want anything being screwed up with them...

I'm in the same boat. I get the message that I can start to customize the bands but when I click on the link I get back to the generic page that says no bands are found. I was able to book all my FP+ reservations.

Same for me I made all the fastpass+ selection and got he message about customizing the bands, but still am gettinf that no magic bands found page.

You haven't got the magic express stuff yet? We got our magic express stuff back in June.

Nope, no magic express stuff yet. When I made my final payment back in august, the CM told me that it would probably be mailed out later in September cause that's when the final payment would have been due (I paid it off a month ahead of final date) But I have had no emails about magicbands and nothing about customizing them. Just yesterday I was able to make fastpass selections for the last couple days of the week but not the beginning of the week.

Kind of silly, but did u scroll over on the dates at the top? once you open the FP selections start process screen, try scrolling over the calander at the top. This happened to me, an all I had to do was scroll over for more of my dates...

As for magic bands, try redoing your online check in. I did that and right after I was able to bring up the magic bands order pending...

Woo hoo! Able to customize our MagicBands for our split stay trip 11/30 to 12/7. It let me go thru just about all of the process of selecting our Fastpass + choices but since we're still 66 days out it wouldn't let me complete. Oh well it gives me something to do next week when I check-in online.

On a related note, does anyone have any concerns about putting your young children's names on the Bands? My wife is concerned that a stranger would know their names and put them at risk. I maintain that the name would be on the inside of the band and never seen. Also, is the name on the band what they'll use to identify you by name and possibly address you by it? If I put their initials will it ruin that experience?
