There will not be a roof like DLP's. There's too many problems with Florida's climate

This. Glass roofs are impossible to keep clean in the southeast. Yes, hurricanes do play a part, but laminated glass can withstand a hurricane. The cleaning would be a huge issue.

I agree with the post earlier (sorry you aren't quoted) that a roof to fit in with Pooh and the rest of Fantasyland Forest would be nice.

It was more then cleaned up, it was stripped down to the structure and re-done, although I believe there was speculation at that time that this roof was just temporary and a more elaborate roof may come some day.

The speculation also centered around the fact that the closure to re-do the roof at that time was a very last-minute thing. It was speculated that the repair was something that they discovered couldn't wait until later, and that the current visible roof is only the base of a new roof, which could be dropped over top of it relatively quickly (even if it's not the exact same roof as Paris, but perhaps still in that style)

The DLP roof wouldn't match the forest look anyway, pretty as it may be.

I would love for a roof (and the surrounding area) to be themed after the white rabbit's house.

The "new" roof in 2010 was just a total strip down and recover of the previous structure. And it was done for structural reasons that couldn't wait. They actually pulled workers from FlE construction to do that job. So that was supposed to be temporary. Now, that may have changed in 2 years, but what was done couldn't wait and MK couldn't afford another attraction closure. It seems like this new roof may be moving forward, finally.

Didn't. Just got cleaned up.
Where does it say the roof was redone, 'cause that's a picture of Ariel's Grotto?

OK, this is better. See the new roofing materials hanging over the edges and the white goo they are using to seal the new seams. We just used this on our school 2 years ago. It works so much better on pitches like this.

I mean, in all of the concept art for New Fantasyland, MTP is shown with Paris' roof, so they've at least thought about the idea.. I'd be all for it!

New roof?
Is that confirmation that you know of, or just speculation on your part? ;)

But anyways, two pieces of the New Fantasyland concept artwork (both the original PixieHollow/TremainChateau version AND the newer revised Mine Train version) feature a Mad Tea Party with a brand new roof. It looks like the one in Paris. I had been wondering whether this was still being considered or if it was just scrapped (it's not featured in the models or the latest concept art)-

Paris' for reference-

I don't see how a glass roof couldn't work even considering crazy Florida weather. Crystal Palace as well as both the Land and Imagination pavilions have massive glass roofs that have been there since the 70's and 80's respectively.

Would also be interesting if they installed some of the LED color changing lanterns used at Disneyland that dance to the music beat.

Though with how slow Disney construction is, I dunno whether they can even finish such an undertaking within that amount of time anymore. And while I find this an extremely unfortunately and terrible excuse not to build great things, TDO probably WOULD neglect its upkeep and it would end up looking awful before too long. Though to be fair, the current roof already looks terrible anyways.

Just a guess. The roof that is on there now has always looked temporary, even though the major replacement was cut from the FLE budget long ago.
I see. So there still might possibly be a new roof installed, but maybe not the DLP-style one we saw in the concept art then? Or could there be a new budget allotted for it, separate from the FLE budget?

I think I remember there being a post somewhere (that of course I can't find now) re: the fact that a new glass roof for the teacups was part of the FLE. I remember lots of folks saying that was just speculation and really in the drawings of the area it's kind of hard to tell. It'd be neat if that's it though and 6-weeks certain seems like plenty of time to do that. I can't imagine anything else that would need 6 weeks though. Ultimately that is a pretty long span of time when you consider that other quickie repaint type refurbs usually are 1-2 weeks. My only other thought is a brake replacement. The past few trips we've noticed the classic squeeeeaaccchhh sound when they stop the spinning is sounding a little "rough." :D

Clearly this is to move the Teacups north of the carousel and between the castle walls. Pixiedustmaker has forseen it.

Pixiedustmaker knows all. Pray to your dark lord, Pixiedustmaker. Tekeli-li! Tekeli-li!

I agree. Makes better place.
