Visited Central Orlando Dec. 11-16, and on Dec. 15 spent my day at Universal. The last of the very warm December days. Dec. 15's high was 85 and not a cloud in the sky, although the morning was thick fog.

For those of you who can't make it during this December's holiday to see all the decorations, below is the Macy's Holiday Parade. I took the series of photos sitting down across the street from Twister.

Enjoy!

I happened to be at Universal that same day, though I was watching the parade from near Terminator 3D. I thought the parade seemed a little...off, somehow. It was fun and all, and the balloons were cool, but I thought that some of the makeup on the performers was a little weird. Also, there were a ton of stilt-walkers. I mean, stilt-walkers are cool and all, but pretty much every unit had two or three of them--it got repetitive. I really enjoyed walking around the New York area and seeing some of the larger balloons on display, though.

Billybuff I Was there the same day you were. Looking at your photos you were across the street from where I was. I was over in the Passholder viewing section across from the Macy's store. Who knows I may even have you in one of pictures. I will post a link later today when after I upload them to Picassa.

Sorry, but that parade does not even come close to what the Macy's parade looks like. Nice pictures though. I think I will pass on this parade.

Guess what? I'm in almost all of your photos!

I'm the Army veteran sitting on the bench next to the Air Force retiree and his wife and grandson!

It isn't supposed to be an exact replica of the Thanksgiving Parade. It's a fun parade, but you've already passed on it, as it's over.

It is a holiday parade at universal studios featuring select floats and balloons from macy's thanksgiving day parade, along with select universal properties thrown in... not an exact replica of the parade shown on TV. It is a fun parade to see, and half the balloon handlers are park guests who volunteered to steer them, and that's an experience in itself.

Furthermore, Macy's sends down about 8 people who help coordinate the parade and stay down the entire run... It may not be an exact version of the parade, but it's definitely an excellent smaller version that Universal and Macy's have partnered to do for the last 8 years...

Also, most of the balloon handlers are park guests. Me and my friends were holding down elf on the 21st. If it looked off, that's because we get a whole 5 minutes of training. it's a lot harder than it looks D:
