Lunch vs. Dinner @ Sit-Down Restarants

I've been tossing around the idea of incorporating some sit-down lunch meals during our trip...some people coming along might need and enjoy the break mid-day. Even though I'm sure I'll be antsy to ease up from the rides, I'm seriously considering it.
I've looked though the menus, lunch vs. dinner, and there seems is quite a few instances of overlap on the offerings (with lower prices for lunch, ie Le Cellier's Filet Mignon, Mama Melrose's flatbreads, The Wave's Sustainable Fish, etc.). Does this mean that the serving sizes are smaller/halved? Is there a huge difference between a lunch-time dining experience and a dinner one, or (being Disney) is it barely recongnizable and just as enjoyable?

thanks

Consider a sit down breakfast buffet and an early sit down evening meal. For lunch (if still required) a snack - fruit etc. For us, this allows maximum touring time in the parks. For those that require a mid-day rest, park them on a bench somewhere and meet up with them later

Yeah, I agree. Sit down dinners are always better than lunch because dinner is usually more expensive than a lunch; so you get more. Or if not dinner, definitel do a breakfast. Either start the day or end the day with a nice meal, lunch you can do a QS which is what we usually do.

Since we are a family of 6 that gets up (me at 5 am, everyone else at 6) & arrives before park opening our breakfast usually consists of some type of cereal bar or pop tart. We then hit major rides first thing in the morning like mad. So by lunch time we are ready to sit down and relax and are hungry. We have found that most places (in the parks) offer the same meals for lunch and dinner at different prices. This may not be the best way to spend dining credits if you are on the DDP, but definitely makes sense if you are paying out of pocket. We also find that lunches at sit-downs are not as crowded and have never waited more than a few minutes for a table, even being a larger party. We try to make reservations for an earlier seating as to avoid any rush. So when we are done everyone else is trying to find somewhere to eat, making the parks seem a little less crowded after we eat. Having a big meal in the afternoon gives us the energy we need to make it through the rest of the day and eat a little later dinner at a Quick Service, again when they are not as crowded during the dinner hours.

That's not always the case.

Generally the price is more because people THINK like you do and are willing to pay more. The food is the same food.

This is what I was curious about. The food is exactly the same? That's crazy...the prices are significantly lower in some places. Very interesting.

I, personally, like doing my TS meals at lunch. It's usually easier to get ADR's at the more popular restaurants at lunchtime (for instance, Le Cellier!). I also like that it gives me the rest of the afternoon to walk off my bigger meal!

Yes
The portions are the same size. Dinner is more expensive because more people tend to eat DINNER at night....
