When will it close? We may be there in June. I thought the tires looked fun...oh well.
What is Toy Story going to use in place of those? Barbie cars? 15 RCs?
idk how much fun is being in a vehicle that dances around other vehicles.
Well autopia is that but with the premise of being on top of water. And someone on here said that wasn't that impressive.Think it all depends on the execution. If the vehicles go seemingly different paths and seem like they are going to crash and there is nice music, it could be fine. Not groundbreaking, but fun.
I would like to imagine that at DHS they might have a larger space to play with and have the vehicles go around planets or space stations or Zurg in addition to around other riders.

Unless they're stupid and paint the surface black after a few months much of the path will be visibly worn onto the ride surface. Even with a layer of water this is the case with Aqutopia.Think it all depends on the execution. But that's not a fair comparison. Here you don't have the benefit of a show scene with set pieces just the other vehicles. Imagine if that was the only show scene in the entire attraction. That's essentially what we are getting and as I said without the nice addition of having any sort of show scene to highlight the experience.Look at the Heffalumps and Woozles scene in Pooh's Hunny Hunt.

Also no show lighting. But that's not a fair comparison. Here you don't have the benefit of a show scene with set pieces just the other vehicles. Exactly, it's like we are getting the test facility version of a trackless attempt at a ride lolAlso no show lighting.
This ride system looks completely off from what MiceChat was pushing. They kept saying it was going to be similar to Ratatouille's ride system but have it sit in place and dance
I've ridden Luigi's Flying Tires at least 10 times, and this was one of my favorite attractions at DCA. Guests were laughing, bumping into one another, and zooming across the floor. It wasn't hard to do if you remembered to lean all the way to each side. I'm going to miss this ride.Haven't seen in it-person, but from the videos I've seen online I think the ride itself was a failure. They were hoping to make a modern, more-reliable version of the original Disneyland Flying Saucers but the ride cars had to be re-designed to meet modern safety standards. This made them much larger and more cumbersome than the smaller originals, causing them to not scoot around like the originals did.

I completely forgot about what you labeled in red. I guess I was just painting a different picture in my head. Sorry MiceChatHuh?
The new Luigi's ride system looks exactly like how MiceChat had said it would in their Miceage Update that broke this news last year. Here's what the Miceage Update said when they broke the story on September 30th, 2014:
"A fleet of 1950’s Fiat cars, ostensibly Luigi’s extended family visiting from the old country, will spin and twirl around the floor in a choreographed musical production number in the new ride tentatively called “Luigi’s Festival of the Dance”."

That Miceage Update description sounds exactly like this artwork Disney released a few days ago:
The Miceage Update article in September went on to explain how these new cars will use WiFi tech to control them on their trackless route, as is already being used in the Ratatouille ride in Paris and Mystic Manor in Hong Kong.
What confused you about those Miceage Udpates and what Disney eventually fessed up to? It appears the MiceChat sources were spot on. Again.
