Luigi's Flying Tires being converted at DCA, what does this mean for DHS?

Aquatopia looks cool from a distance, then you walk off after the ride wondering what the heck was that supposed to be? Hopefully they learned what not to do and the ride at DCA turns out much better.

Have ridden both this and Pooh at TDL, and thought they were both enjoyable and unique (Same ride system, different floor.). If this is what they are going to do, I'm in favor of the change. Rode Luigi's the first part of December, and it was 5-15 minute wait all day long. Those vehicles are very very difficult to "drive".

Yeah, as @IDInstitute and others have said, it's rumored to become a new ride in Toy Story Playland themed to Buzz. Also, Mater's Junkyard Jamboree is rumored to be re-themed as Woody's Roundup.

When I rode this ride back in July, it was the middle of the day and we waited for the current cycle to finish. It's a really slow loading and unloading process, making the hourly capacity really low. In addition, when we went, my mother was in boot because of a severely sprained ankle and it was a challenge for her to get in and out of the tire. I'm pretty sure this ride is getting replaced because of the terrible capacity, difficult access for disabled guests and how it's not popular at all.

Hopefully the new ride is a success at DLR, so it's imported here. I would love to see it come to WDW. Here's the concept art:

I think a ride like this at WDW will be greatly appreciated.

But what the heck are they? Bumper cars?

Miceage had been talking about closing Luigi's for months now, and since the Parks Blog made it official the wait times at Luigi's are back up in the 45 minute range. I was there Sunday evening. I think people want one last spin on the tires before they are shut down next week.

The Flying Saucers only lasted five years; 1961-66. The Flying Tires only lasted two and a half years; June, 2012-February, 2015. Something tells me Disney will never do a "flying" air hockey ride ever again. :D

You are hearing correctly. Toy Story Playland has been rumored for DHS since late September and is part of the DHS redo.

What...

Really, Disney? Really?

What is Toy Story going to use in place of those? Barbie cars? 15 RCs?

I'm not really sure. All I know is that's it's rumored to be themed after Buzz. So... Spaceships? :p

Spaceship...cars... Sooo... Is it possible Buzz Lightyear could be closing in MK and those vehicles shall be re-developed for THIS? Shoot at other cars as you zoom past them! Now THERE'S a version of this I'd actually enjoy looking forward to. :D

Buzz is is supposed to be like new Luigi's with spaceships

Woody's will be like Mator's I'm guessing they will keep the western square dance theme and have something like horse drawn carriages or covered wagon as the cars. I can't imagine they wouldn't call it "Woody's Round-Up"

This ride system looks completely off from what MiceChat was pushing. They kept saying it was going to be similar to Ratatouille's ride system but have it sit in place and dance

So far Mice Chat seems to be correct. Check out Aquatopia in Japan. Same ride system as Ratatouille's - used similar to the new Luigi's

I know.. Flat rides! I have a strong passionate hatred for flat rides.. I just don't like them. Disney-fied or not.. Whatever happened to Monsters Inc Coaster?
I always said the needed something similar. With this new technology that Universal's been using with the new Harry Potter rides and the Transformers (simulators). Disney could knock it out of the park with a simulated adventure through the door building

I still think the best option for that kind of simulator-style ride is Big Hero 6.. I'm never going to let that slide! :p

They can't just build E tickets or we will be complaining that the big DHS update only has 2 new rides. I like to have one or two big gifts on Christmas and then a handful of stocking stuffers. The new Toy Story land is made of stocking stuffers (some would argue coal), not the big additions. And the upside for Disney and us is that it can go in relatively quickly. Similarly, Toy Story Land came to HKDL with Mystic Manor and Grizzly. The final park update is phenomenal as a whole. If they had Dino-Ramad and just added Toy Story Land, folks might feel differently.

People might be happier with the stocking suffers if they knew they were actually getting the big gifts.

Aquatopia at Disney Sea is one of the most pointless and least entertaining rides I've ever been on. I would rather they fill the space at DHS with landscaping than spend the Jack to put another attraction like that in a park.
But it's trackless!

You can see differences in flat, empty floors?
