Low-flow shower heads at CSR: Spawn of Satan?

I can understand everyone wanting to save water, especially in drought-choked Florida, and Disney should be applauded for what they've done for the environment in general. However, we recently moved to a new house with low flow shower heads and low flow toilets. My experience has been that I wind up taking twice as long to get the shampoo out of my hair and often have to flush twice to clear the toilet. I really have to question if I'm saving any water at all.

These are being installed in all the DELUXE RESORTS next week:

They refill every day during the 4-o'clock rain storm and are heated by the sun.

If I recycle all my newspapers and cans all year, can I please take my own shower head and waste 5 gallons of water?

I agree with the environment thing. I have been requesting that Disney and its buses stop using air conditioning. It is probably one of the largests wastes on pure luxury. It's not needed and prevents people from adjusting to the normal temps of Florida. Never substitute AC for lack of hydration. It's killing our planet!!

oh BOO HOOO!

Get over it. Just cause your on vacation doesn't mean you can use up all the damn water you want. We have a MAJOR shortage of water here in CFL. Pretty soon everyone who lives here won't have enough water to drink or bath in. It's not far that only those of us who live here are being asked to cut back, while those on vacation can go whole hog.

No we don't. I have lived in places with very low water. Florida is plentiful in water. People run broken sprinklers every night here that shoot water all over the place. In West Texas, it's once a week to water and if any sprinkler is broken or hitting the side walk or street, it's an $800 fine. There are huge lakes all over the place around here and it rains a lot. Go 3 months without any rain in a place where rain showers come in the form of squall lines which pass over in 15 - 20 minutes and the only lake within 80 miles is a mud puddle.

Who showers in a bathing suit? At least post realistic pictures...

She's saving water by doing her laundry in the shower

That's how I feel. It takes twice as long to shower, so how much water are you possibly saving? I also don't find it the least bit selfish to want to have a shower head that exudes pressure to properly wash your hair and body.

I am all for it. But I question if the water usage (which is reclaimed) outweighs the environmental impact on the production and resources of thousands of these urinals. Maybe they should replace with this system when the individual urinals need replacing.

Such the case with hybrids. People with the $$ to buy hybrids often buy cars every year and their former car is on the road. Didn't help anything.

Very true. Many people are penny wise but dollar foolish and those that got rid of their cars solely for the purpose of buying a more fuel efficient model fit into that category.

In this case a simple cost analysis would need to be done to determine if the conversion from standard to waterless would be for just new construction and remodels or a total property conversion.

There is a tremendous amount of resources used to fly a family of 4 to Orlando, transport them to WDW, transport them around the parks all week, run the parks, feed them etc. and we're felling all good about it because we saved 5 gallons of water that week.
I guess you better walk
