I was just wondering if anyone that has been to WDW has seen any love bugs this year and if they're bad?? When we went 2 years ago, they were horrible, especially at the water parks, but last year wasn't bad at all. Just wondered if anyone has seen any or if anyone even knows what I'm talking about :) ??

We went in April of 1995 and LOVE BUGS were EVERYWHERE! They are harmless but smash your car when driving. Are there love bugs in January?

We always see a ton of them at our timeshare when we go in March. But I have never had a problem with them in parks the past few years. I have never been to a WDW water park though, so I can't say much about those.

At our timeshare though, we are mostly bothered by the love bugs by the pool, so they must be worse around water. I think they also are worse depending on the time of year you visit. Like I said - for us, it's worse in the Spring than in the Summer.

I've driven the 55 miles to WDW three times in the last week (twice to work, once to play) and 40 miles to OIA last night. I take the Beeline from the Cape. No lovebugs yet. It is still a little early for them, but that could change when you get to the Pop Century in a couple weeks. So to answer your question, no lovebugs. Yet. But that could change.

Have seen them in March, and especially bad in September. My advice is to wear dark colored pants/shorts....no matter how hard you try, you will always sit on them, and they leave nice little reddish-black stains :(

Last time we went they were horrible. Worse at our time share, but pretty bad in the parks too. Sometimes we had no choice to walk through swarms of them. This was 8 years ago though, on our honeymoon - the last week in Sept.

We were there that September too... our first time in Florida and coming from the UK we had no idea what they were! It first we thought they were some weird bug with two sets of wings and two heads :ROFLOL:

We used to come back to All Stars and there would be piles and piles of dead/or dying ones all along the walkways around the rooms. They were using hoses to try and get rid of them. It was terrible!

But then last year we were there at the same time and didn't see any as far as I can remember! Someone told me over there that it has something to do with the weather - either wet weather, or dry weather determines how many are about that year - but I can't remember which!

It's college football season, they should be coming out any time now.
Every trip to Tallahassee kills my car.

You know the University of Florida invented those things

I heard that it's a dry spell followed by a wet spell that brings them out.

LOL...that is tooooo funnny!!!

From what i understand, they're mating season is in May and September. And they're not out as bad if there hasn't been a lot of rain! There's no harm in them, they're just soooooooooooo annoying and EVERYWHERE!!!
