And we thought he was this nice, cuddly bear.... :goodnevil :p
Might I say that your daughter looks like Molly from the movies? (or at least with the hair from the 3rd movie :p) And hahahahaha, those pictures are so deceiving.

Yeah, you're right, she does look a little like Molly  And yes, those pictures are so deceiving, aren't they? Like I said, he looked like this cute, nice teddy bear from the new movie....boy were we WRONG! :ROFLOL:

I saw the movie already knowing that Lotso was bad, but I assumed he was going to turn good. And just when the movie makes you think he has become good... he turns and does something even MORE evil!

The fact that they did this instead of having him convert is awesome in my book. Its also awesome that in the parks, they gave you no indication that he is a villian.

This is exactly what I thought would happen too. I had a feeling going in that he was going to be the villain, since it was the only character that made sense to be one. However, I really did think that he would turn good based on the meet and greet opportunity. I know that people enjoy seeing the villains, but I think Lotso is in a different category than Cruella or Captain Hook. I have to say that I was truly surprised when he was bad all the way through.

Like the OP mentioned, its a really odd situation with the M&G. Before the movie opened, most people probably assumed he was just a sweet teddy bear (since he acts that way).

Now that the movie is out, I'm sure people will go up to him and say how mean he was, be angry with him, etc. How are the CM's trained to react to that, since the character is supposed to act nice? I wonder if the face has some animation built in, so he could squint his eyes and look a bit sinister if people aren't happy to meet him. (If you look at the M&G sign in the Youtube link I posted, the letter O's in "Lotso" are bear faces...one smiling, one angry.)

Psychological complexity in a character meet. You gotta love it.

To everyone who cried at the end, don't worry... I cried through the whole opening scene! That was incredible, seeing what Andy saw in his imagination... and then the home movies! Oh, that got me.

What an amazing film. I definitely recommend seeing it in the IMAX if you get the chance.

If we're talking emotional, I thought the bit at the beginning of the movie where "You've Got a Friend In Me" just cut off right at the line "Our friendship will never die" and made it echo like an ominous question was kinda gripping.

Lotso was so disappointing, I really thought that he was going to change back to being a good guy! I thought Big Baby was less likely to change than Lotso after that Exorcist head-turn. In the end Big Baby was great and cute though and Lotso got what he deserved! "You might wanna keep your mouth shut!"

That was a very tearful moment too. My eyes were full of tears when I heard the song.

I want to hug Lotso and Dug on my next trip. They just seem so hugable, especially that giant strawberry....

I wonder if they ever had a Stinky Pete costumed CM...

I had NEVER cried during a movie before, that changed when I watched Toy Story 3. I remember being excited when I saw the previews for the first one, and now 15 years later we have an amazing trilogy. If we never see Woody and the gang in another feature I'd be ok with that. Terrific movie.

My guess was that Lotso would be the bad guy, but I definitely thought he was going to press the button at the end.

We met him! I knew he was the villian but I really like the villians. But Lotso... :fork: I mean he tried to KILL Slinky Dog and he's one of my Top 5 Favorites!

OK, I know I shouldn't but I want to take a picture with and give a hug to Lotso. I am also curious if he smells like strawberries. Where can I find him?

I was really hoping that he was going to turn good at the end and was so surprised that he didn't push the stop button. I even sat watching the credits thinking that maybe they would show a changed Lotso....but no. He has to be one of the best villians.

Finally saw it tonight.

I have to disagree. It is so much better with Lotso not changing. Not everything ends with rainbows and butterflies. Sometimes sucky people just suck to the bitter end and sometimes they get what they deserve.

I do have to say it is very odd to have such a 'cuddly and cute' character as a heel, and have him in the parks.

I was also disapointed that cute and furry Lotso didn't reform in the end, but then I like it best when movies end with rainbows and butterflies - and also puppies and sunshine! ;). I agree with those who found his appearances in the park to be very misleading.

SPOILERS IN WHITE:

I was also really hoping Andy would end up keeping his toys in the end, so due to the ending and sadder/darker nature of this film, I enjoyed it less than the previous two. Don't get me wrong, overall I enjoyed it, though.

Yeah, I definitely agree. I'm glad Pixar avoided that cliche' by having Lotso remain evil. Details like these are what separates Pixar from the competition.

I wish I would have paid attention to see if he smelled like strawberries, but I didn't know at the time to check for it! And you can find him at HS in the Animation building.
