Lotso meet n greet

I was recently there and there was no wait to see Lotso. My 19 month old Princess ran right to him, but she hasn't seen the movie. All she saw was a HUGE teddy bear ready to hug!

No clue about the strawberry smell. I was taking pics with the iPhone.

So cute!!! That's exactly what my younger one would do if she saw him. The older one on the other hand...yeah, she keeps threatening to kick any villains she sees. We're going to have to work on that before our trip...she'll be 4 at the time and truly believes she's meeting these characters...so a good kick to the shins seems reasonable in her mind. I don't want to destroy the magic for her, but I don't want her giving Lotso a beat down either. :hammer:

I am still curious to discover if he does smell like strawberries.

Yes, Lotso does smell like strawberries. I smelled him when I gave him a hug last week. I think that they also pump the smell of strawberries in the building. I had to wait in a pretty long line to meet him. I had to laugh a little because the people in front of me brought a Woody and Jessie with them for the photo. It didn't seem like they saw the movie yet :lookaroun

I had thought after watch TS3 he was rather purple....not too fond of Lotso myself, has no appeal to me....can see him getting abuse from some older TS3 fans...maybe extra security padding is intact. :lookaroun

Wouldn't it be fun if they could make the Pita Mr Potato head?!?! I thought that was one of the creative highlights of the movie...:D

Why is everyone so phazed about meeting a villain? There are meets for other villains and nobody says anything about them?!

Like I said I think it is because other villians have a dark forboding air about them. There are not too many cute, pink, fuzzy villians. I know that is why Lotso sets apart in my mind.

SPOILER ALERT!!!! READ NO FURTHER IF YOU HAVE NOT SEEN TS3

I guess you could argue that the limp and crutch sets him apart from the others but I still say he is one of the most diabolical and evil villians in Disney history IMO. That followed up by how dramatic the incinerator scene is and that Lotso could have saved them makes me be a "Lotso hater". I cannot think of another film that showed so dramatically how close the "good guys" came to total obliteration due to the actions of a villian.

I was really shocked that after Disney had been incorporating the bear in the park that he turned out Evil. I wonder if there will be a Toy Story 4

There won't be a Toy Story 4. It has been confirmed that there will be a Toy Story short before Cars 2, though.

I might be willing to light his fur on fire, but that is about it. Prick!

:ROFLOL::ROFLOL:

You leave absolutely not the slightest bit of gray area on your feelings about Lotso. Very eloquently put. Good laugh. Good times.

I saw a lady at Target tonight with a little girl and a Lotso bear in her buggy. First thing to cross my mind was: I bet they haven't seen the movie yet.

We did the M&G before seeing the movie and my kids knew he was a bad guy based on a kids book my DS had, but wanted to see him anyway. I didn't expect him to be such a bad guy though. They did say he smelled like Strawberry.

After seeing the movie, I would be tempted to go up and kick him in the sack if I went to a M&G now.

I agree. I think Lotso got a raw deal from the screenwriters. They had the perfect chance to "rehabilitate" him and have him press the button and become part of the Toy Story family. This would have still been credible and believable; after all, it is only because of his heartbreak that he turned bad in the first place. But in the story itself, he wasn't even always supposed to be inherently evil to the core, like he is portrayed in his final scene.

I can easily believe a human is capable of that kind of inherent evil, but a cute, pink, fuzzy, strawberry-scented TEDDY BEAR named LOTS'O HUGGINS?

NEVER!

This is especially unsettling for me since my first introduction to the character was as the lovable, huggable, friend he is portrayed as in the parks. This is one of the reasons (there are a few others) that the movie disapointed me compared to the first two.

If I ever meet him, I'll give him a great big hug regardless of what happened in the movie!

"He's not really bad, he was only written that way"! Silly writers ;) ;) ;) ;) ;)

I don't think his line is going to suffer anyway. After all, we have always been complaining about lack of villains' M&Gs.

People love a great villain!

I hope he is still there in October. Evil teddy bear or not, I'm all about meeting different characters. Especially if they may not return after their movie isn't the new release. (I don't know anything, just basing this off of Remy, Emil, Dug, and Russell not being available any more. Or the dozens of other characters not seen now.)

The complaints about Lotso here are the same types of complaints have made villains even harder to find for meet-and-greets in the parks already.

So, please be quiet and quit it. If you don't, our favorite baddies may not even be allowed in the parks anymore altogether.
