Morning gang...

I decided to look up some stuff on rip off report, and an evil lightbulb popped up in my head, and I decided to search for Disney. Anywho, these two stories stood out to me, so I have decided to share them.

Plenty of people say the good, and plenty of people say the bad. While I'm sure there's a bias to these stories, they're still good to know, so you can more fully understand what you are getting into by signing up for the college program (and a job/career at Disney in general) :)

Those stories are pretty lame.

#1 - sat around for 4 DAYS??? He deserved to get fired. The follow-up comments are dead on

#2 - Sounds like someone isn't telling the whole story because if it went down like they said - Disney would be a monster bullseye for a lawsuit. The person KNEW they had a medical condition and didn't disclose it in the hiring process? Even still.. Disney is required by law to make reasonable accommodations for disabilities and given the number of disabled people working at WDW I'm sure they are familiar with the law. Disabilities is a major 'kid gloves' topic because its so ripe for lawsuits.

For the first one, I don't feel sorry for him. I can't believe he just sat around for 4 days. I don't know what to say about the second one. That can't be the whole story, because something sounds really fishy.

I agree with the previous comments. If he didn't actually talk to a human being about the ID situation and get some advice on what to do, then he's a moron. Leaving some voice mail messages doesn't cut it.

Yes as a Manager even doing a 2 year stint in Human Resources with Target he should have spoken to a human being.....Leaving a message doesnt cut it.

After working last 17 years in Management and currently in a Target Super Store with 5oo team members-theres ALWAYS 2 sides to a story especially when someone is fired.

Like Target,Disney being a huge company abides by the same laws and regulations that govern employement and im sure if the CM had a valid Doctors note for light duty Disney, like Target would comply for legal reasons.

Stories like this irk me.

The first guy deserved exactly what he got....that just dumb to sit around and not get your problem fixed.....

The second story....there is more to it than that.

I will say that I had in incident when i was on my CP, I had a severe blatter infection that was causing some bleeding (I'm trying to avoid detail, yet still get my point) I had to call into work for a couple days and our superviser did not like that I called in and tried writing me up over it....long story short, I talk to someone over him and it was no problem whatsoever. So, I don't believe this girl....at all.

What kills me about this stuff is that people want to go down there and party all night, go to work with hangovers or just call in. The want to act like complete morans when they are in costume or have keg parties in the wellness apartments and then when they get fired they are mad at Disney. Common people...

Yeah, people suck! They act like it's a 4 month vacation and don't take it seriously. I'm not one of those people.

I hope so...it's gonna be a hard transition for me, and I'm really nervous. I've never been away from home that long.:(

I was the same way my first way. I had never been away from home for an extended period of time. But I ended up having so much fun that I extended my CP.
