Lost and Found ?

On Tuesday December 8 while at Magic Kingdom, I lost my wallet between 4 and 6:30 pm. I believe it fell out of my pocket after I got my wristband for MVMCP at the rose garden or when i sat on the rail watching the castle lighting. For a while I panic while I try to remember to trace my steps. Then I went to City Hall to report because none of Disney Literature can tell me what to do in that situnation. The Nice people there took my info since no one turn in a wallet at that time and told me about the Lost and Found Center at the Ticket and Transportation Center / Kennel.

Twenty-four hours later I got a call on my room voice mail that they found it in Magic Kingdom and to pick up at ticket and transportion center. All my credit cards and driver lincense was still in the wallet.
I want to thank everybody at disney for whatever they did to help me to find my wallet and ask if info can be added to all disney literature about the lost and found department so that other persons will not have to go thru the same thing i did.

Another problem with the new style maps. They used to list lost and found for each park, even into this decade. It wasn`t just the park guidebooks. I guess now they assume you can just ask a CM.

Good to hear you got the wallet back. City Hall is same day lost and found, T&TC for days after. We had a similar experience. By the time we got back to Fantasyland (Poohs Thotful Shop, 3pm Dec 4th if any CMs are reading this) the missing item had already been sent to City Hall. We went straight to Town Sq and it was waiting for us. Excellent service.

My kids left a hat in Celfs de France once, at around 5:00 PM. I think we checked at guest services around 8:00 and they said the sweep of the parks had been made and all items had been shuffeled off to central lost and found.

It was there at central lost and found the next day. I was impressed.

Great job by the CM's! I am very glad you got all back! This is one of my greatest fears when I am at some venue as this. I try to keep my wallet in my front pocket.

The Lost & Found department were wonderful when Love lost his prescription sunglasses. Sadly, they never got turned in or found - who needs to keep Rx sunglasses? - but the department was very helpful in trying to find them for us.

You're very lucky that an honest person found your wallet and turned it in.

I lost a bag full of raincoats on one of the buses during my last trip. There were never heard from again.

I was able to get mine back after loosing them on Everest about two years ago. Both the CM at unload and lost & found at the TTC were very helpful. The CM at lost and found told me they get hundreds of sunglasses turned in everyday. Thankfully my regular glasses have the same frame, so I was able to give him the exact markings or else he may not have been able to identify them.

Last trip, all the CM's at TSM helped us out when DD left her favorite new webkin in one of the cars. They actually searched each car as it came to unload until they found it. These people are really great.

It's amazing. I lost my hat at MVMCP and I asked the next day at MK City Hall and someone had handed it in. My lens cap on the other hand has a new life with someone else. Oh well, you win some, you lose some. ;)

Central Lost and Found has a whole box full of lens caps - I've been told that you can just go over there and pick up one that fits your lens without any problem. Apparently no one ever claims them, so they usually end up with a bunch.

Thats great!!

What a terrible feeling losing your wallet, it has to be awful to try and remember everything in your wallet and then, I have to admit, I dont have all the phone numbers I would need to cancel credit cards when Im on vacation...ugh, maybe your situation should be a lesson, that's good info to carry on vacation.

I had lost my wallet in the Contemporary while on my honeymoon. I was so bummed. There was money in it but to be honest all I was really concerned with was getting my license back so I could fly back home without any problems. The next day I got a call from the front desk at the Contemporary (we were not staying there) that they had found it. Not a penny was missing. I have to say that if my wallet was lost anywhere besides disney then I think it would never have been returned and if it were, the money would have probably been gone. I hope no one loses anything but it seems like you have a higher chance of getting your item back in Disney than anywhere else.

We lost a backpack on Dinosaur a while back, but got it back that evening. It managed to slide out during the ride, we even knew where it was, but they don't walk the track until closing. They were great about getting our stuff back, even gave me a card with a phone number to call if I didn't wish to wait till the park closing, so we could pick it up later that week, I still have that card somewhere.

Same thing happened to my brother- only we didn't get the hat back.

We went on the ToT in Disney's Hollywood Studios, and he was wearing his hat on the ride, and we went up, and than down, and by the end of the ride the hat was gone :ROFLOL:

My daughter left her purse on a Disney bus a few years back, all that was missing was her ticket to the parks and 30 cash. When we realized it was missing we went to the front desk at FW, they called and reported and the next day we had a message it was found. The front desk manager asked if everything was intact and we told him of the missing ticket, he replaced it with a park hopper good for the rest of our stay....no questions asked. I was so grateful to him.

Well, sometimes if things end up in ride machinery and get torn up they simply don't bother returning them to the owners...

I have two Lost & Found anecdotes...
First, I lost sunglasses and their matching case in Animal Kingdom, but separately on two different trips. I lost the glasses after setting them down somewhere, most likely on the train while returning from Conservation Station. When I got home, I tossed the now-unnecessary case in a drawer and bought a new pair, same style. On my next vacation, I lost the case for the glasses, again in AK, probably left it on a snack stand and walked away. When I got home, I was able to dig out the old case and create a complete pair of glasses and case again. :)
In neither instance were the items returned.

The second was when my friend lost his hat on Primeval Whirl. It was on the first real drop on the ride, and it landed under the track on the roof of the loading platform. (You could see it from the exit walkway) We were told to go to Lost & Found and fill out the form and they'd get it after park closing. Sure enough, we were able to go pick it up the next day at the central Lost & Found. (And as a side note, that must be a popular spot for lost hats, because we stopped by later that day, his hat had been joined by 2 or 3 others )
