Looking for souvenir ideas

I can't go to WDW without getting a new t-shirt. The trip just wouldn't be complete without one. :D

But I think my most favorite souveniers are my postcards. I've been buying them everywhere I go since I was a little girl (mid-80's), and I have quite a collection now. I have so much fun looking back at the older WDW cards and seeing how the parks have changed through the years. Recently, I've even started hunting for even older cards in antique shops and flea markets. Postcards are cheap, easy to transport, and easy to store at home (I use photo holders and put them in notebooks), and they're almost as fun to look at as vacation pictures. I highly recommend them!

We also go for the magnets. Our oldest daughter is now 10 and has started taking them to school to hold up all of her dis. chan. star posters in her locker. we also usually do a tshirt, but the thing my girls have really taken a liking to are the big beach towels, I think they average 15-20 but no one at the pools/waterparks etc around here has the same towels as them. There favorites are the PoC towels they bought in 2005, they even bought one for our nephew who was then a freshman in high school, and he used it almost daily for PE swim class. We also do some kind of photo album and maybe a cd.

Beach towels are a good idea....and at 15-20 dollars i don't think thats a bad price at all. They probably would take up alot of space in the suitcase mind you.

Bring an extra suitcase or tote bag with you - We always need more space in the suitcase coming home!

I always have to get at least a few of the neat picture frames that you can find all over disney. My home is filled with pictures of the people I love and what better than to have them having fun at disney! The frames there are so neat and intricate, very high quality.

My wife goes for a new magnet or three. I'll buy a pin and usually a nice golf shirt. My shirt from 2000 finally gave it up this year so I need to replace it

I remember seeing picture frames but don't really remember would a 5X7 frame be expensive? What about dvds of the disney parks has anyone ever bought one? are they worth it? What is all on it new stuff ? Or are the like the free vacation dvd?

Sorry to bump - but I was about to start a thread on this, did a search first and VOILA!

I'm trying to figure out how much $ to bring for souvenirs this trip. It's DH and my first trip together as a couple (DH first trip ever!) so I figure I might do more shopping than usual since we have a house to decorate, new memories to create, etc.

I usually like buying a sweatshirt when I get cold one night at the parks. I'll also probably buy three pins for me and three pins for DH; a magnet (we collect them from different locations we've visited); a pen to bring back to work; a Christmas ornament; and maybe a picture frame. I'm thinking we should bring $250-$300 for the two of us and anything we see to get for our friends back home.

This year we gave our children some money to get what ever they wanted. I think for the first time, since they were using "their own" money, they made better decisions on what to spend their money on. This time they chose things like purses, sterling silver rings and things like that. My girls are still using the items that they bought. I am really proud of them. I like magnets and t-shirts and things like that so I am easy to please too. I bought a beach towel too that I use every summer. I have really enjoyed it too. There is so much to choose from that you could shop for days!

I am a nut for unique, fun pens! If I gotta be a work, might as well make the most of it and use a fun pen that also makes a great conversation piece!

I also buy Mickey Ears and a new hat.

The 'Easter Bunny' brought our daughter Disney Dollars so she can have her very own spending money!

I think that sounds pretty good! I suppose that the less money you bring, the better. Because you know that however much you have, you will find something to spend it on!

The best souvenir to buy is PINS!!!!!!!!!
Buy thousands of them at a time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:hammer:

Last time i was at DTD I saw a man with one of theos hand held baskets like at a grocery store litterally grabbing at least one of every pin they had at the pin store.....

I buy the pins I like.. So i guess I am not a pin trader :( but buyer :) My vote goes for pins

I have started a WDW charm bracelet. Every time we visit, I buy a charm or two and have my jeweler attach them. When I look down at my wrist or hear the pretty "chiming" of the charms, I think of our vacation. It will be something that never gets holes, cluttered on the fridge or collects dust. I plan on starting a figurine collection for my son-he is 9 months old and can grow up looking at the wonderful sculptures!
