But the fact that I was able to book a 1BR Villa with a Lake View at BLT is making me pretty happy right about now. I never stayed at a monorail resort, closest I ever got was a week at Wilderness. I'm not even sure we'll be able to go, some family health issues may require us to try to do something with RCI closer to home. But for now, knowing that it's there, waiting for us... you know, yippee and all that...

We stayed there just after New Years in a 1BR Lake view and loved it even though we were on the inside of the "C" (still a great view of the pool and a bit of the lake. The kids loved having their own bathroom (ok, so did we!) and the walk to MK is great. I hope the health issues don't get in the way.

I share your nerdy happiness, with a twinge of jealousy. :D That looks to be a fantastic place to spend a Disney getaway. Best of luck!

Slappy,

Hope it works out for you, and especially said family member. That sounds great! I assume that was at the 7 month window. That's good for all of us to hear.

Stayed on the monorail for first time in Sept. You are right to geek out about it. It is pretty sweet.

Thanks, and thanks to all. I try to keep current aspects of my personal life vague, but I also don't want my OP to sound too ominous or vague. The "health" comment is not a bad thing (well, not necessarily, haha). Slappette and I are making some efforts towards making a brother or sister for our li'l Slapperina. But we need a little science on our side, and it will take time. And while I know lots of people here would go to WDW even if their water broke on the plane ride to Orlando, I promised Slappette that, if she all done knocked up before our trip, I'd try to swap it out to Hilton Head or something where we all relax, then shoot for another WDW trip sometime after the crowning.

First and foremost, good luck to you and Slappette. Secondly, we have been on the monorail a few times at GF and then at Poly. We are DVC members and the points for those two just are not worth it so getting into BLT makes me a wee bit green with envy. Hope it all works out and you get to enjoy the rail stop!

Stayed there this summer in a 1BR lake view and loved it! Took our 7 month old for her first trip and the location could not have been better. Enjoy!

You are in good company Slappy. I was absolutely giddy when we ended up in a theme park view room in the tower at the Contemporary over the weekend. I even slept with the curtains open so I could see the castle when I woke up at night.

:sohappy:LOVE LOVE LOVE BAY LAKE TOWER and CONTEMPORARY!!!!!!!!! We go to BLT now that we are DVC members. Unfortunately we are Saratoga Spring owners... wish we waited one year till they completed Bay Lake but we still get in no problem! Contemporary is our absolute favorite, went there, all through my years of growing up , but now that there are soooo many of us, we have moved to a bigger space!!!
There is too much to say about the BLT and Contemporary... The monorail, Chef Mickey, the pools, the views, the layout of the rooms. We are actually wanting to look into switching our points to there somehow!!!!!!!!!! I am sure it is not possible. Selling Saratoga seems to hard to sell...haha. But you will soooooo enjoy it. I hope all goes well and you can goooooo:)
I think Disney brings the nerd out in all of us.... but I look at it as innocent, child-like emotions and excitement!! :o

We are DVC owners at AKV and have split our last 2 trips between BLT and AKV. We absolutely love this since it gives us the hustle and bustle of being near MK, on the monorail line, etc. and then the serenity of AKV. I loved sitting out at night at both places enjoying a beverage. At BLT, it was Wishes, the Electrical Water Pageant, etc. At AKL, it was sitting around the fire listening to.....um...crickets(?). It was so quiet every night, I felt like I was far from anywhere. (Wait a minute, how can you be far from 'anywhere'?) You know what I mean. :-)

Anyway, all that to say that we love staying at BLT as well. Enjoy!

Are you kidding? BLT and even moreso the Contemorary Tower are my favorite places in The World and also in the world. As for the Tower I love both the MK View and the Bay Lake View. So far for BLT I have only had a Lake View and that was awesome too, we were actually on the outside facing South with a great view of Spaceship Earth!

So believe me I know why you are so happy and I hope you get to make the trip!

How was the view of Illuminations? (Sorry to Hijack)

The View of the Fireworks...You can see them all and the musci is piped in so you can hear everything. The one thing i do not like is the fact that now you are looking at the fireworks behind the castle. When you are in MK in the front of the park, the fireworks are "above" the castle. Other than that small disconnect....they are great!
