Not to get into the whole 'debate' ... but I couldn't care less if Mickey says my name or Small World says goodbye to me by name. I mean, for one second someone will smile and it will make their day, that's great and all, but couldn't all of that time and energy go into something else?
I have zero issues with FP+ and the MDE app. No one's being "forced" to book FP's a billion days out and maybe if people stopped rushing to book ADRs as soon as they can, there wouldn't be the stress of actually having to do that .... band, card, doesn't really matter to me. As a passholder, honestly, the FP+ is a huge convenience. Did all of this really need to happen? No and I'd rather they have spent those billions on improving the parks (and it bugs me that it's likely why Epcot and especially DHS have seemingly been ignored for at *least* 5 years ... of course it's longer than that, but still ...).
But would that money really have even gone to attractions?
And no, I'm not thrilled about my every move being tracked, but again, it's not like we're not practically watched in other ways. Not justifying them doing it, but Disney made a big mistake, IMO, touting this as much as they did, when offering next to nothing else. That was one big failure.
