^^I'm really likin that alot! I gotta get to school, but the only thing, maybe we could work on some original attractions. I'm not a fan of cloning... Some clones are okay, but there should at least be one original attraction in each land... preferably more imho. I'll think about it during English hahaha.

Agreed!

haha yeah... I've been thinking though, this is coming together really nicely. The entire land is being tied together as "America", small town America-Main Street, 1776-Liberty Street (leading to the 1800's-Frotierland), the melting pot/early1900's(Ellis Island)-International Street, the turn of the century inventors-Edison Square... I'm thinkin this will work out perfectly.

So essentially, what we'll have is the actual Main Street USA which will be very similar to other Main St's around the globe. At the end of Main Street stands the Carousel Theatre, featuring a newly refurbished CoP (I'm thinkin we should try and make the story line more about America, to tie it into the land, then there can be a post show about Walt's patriotism...). Behind the Main Street facades you'll find tunnels (still need names). On the right side, the Liberty tunnel, where you'll find dioramas of famous American landmarks, perhaps we'll make a show too...this tunnel will lead you to Liberty Square. On the left side, something about inventors (yet to be determined), leading you to Edison Square.
Branching of of Main Street to the left, is Liberty Street, which leads to Liberty Square (a land to be described in a later round). Branching to the right is International Street(working title), which features an all new Muppet attraction: The Great Muppet Immigration Story(working title) and Innovation Ave which leads to Edison Square (a land to be described in a later round). Essentially, we're building a mini-Disney's America, with the entire front half of the park (Main Street, Liberty Sq, Edison Sq) all tying into the American dream in one way or anther. This is very cool. I like how we've expanded Main Street into an actual land...Very Cool!

Your right, this is all coming along great!
I think if we use your idea for my america ride ( ie; the lookout points ) it would tie in greatly with everything!
so if we do the lookouts, it would work!

Alright I got a rough blog up...header is really the only thing I had time to do...http://The-imaginators.blogspot.com/ I think I can invite you guys so we can all edit and comment and such idk..I'll figure it out...sorry if the name is too cheesy...It's the best that I came up with.

Anyways here is how I see it in my vision we make main st more into a land then anything right now...with...welll I guess I better ask...is the Disney America thing viable?? or does this have to be a Magic Kingdom style park?

Edit:
IF you message me your emails I'll make you an author for the blog...I have to admit...it's starting to intrigue me...after the competition I'm thinking keep the blog and just make it an imagineering type thing where it is a forum to throw our ideas on Disney parks out for review...but it makes it more personal and archived for us...would you guys be in?? I just kind of want something a little less structured and rigid...

Well, the park does have to be a MK style park... When I said that, I meant it almost seems to me that we're expanding Main Street into a "Disney's America-land". The entire park isn't going to be Disney's America, we still need Adventureland, Fantasyland, and Tomorrowland (+whatever sub-lands and new lands we include...
But yeah, I'm definatly seeing Main Street become more of a "land" too.

As for the blog, it's great! and I just sent you my email, so sign me up! :)

Mickey's Mighty Automat

I have an idea for a QS restaurant called "Mickey's Mighty Automat." That is right! This will be an automat that has the Disney touch. Here is a Wikipedia Article about automats:

Automat

An automat (sometimes referred to colloquially as a wall) is a fast food restaurant where simple foods and drink are served by coin-operated and bill-operated vending machines.

Concept
Originally, the machines took only nickels. In the original format, a cashier would sit in a change booth in the center of the restaurant, behind a wide marble counter with five to eight rounded depressions in it. The diner would insert the required number of coins in a machine and then lift a window, which was hinged at the top, to remove the meal, which was generally wrapped in waxed paper. The machines were filled from the kitchen behind. All or most New York automats also had a cafeteria-style steam table where patrons could slide a tray along rails and choose foods, which were ladled out of steaming tureens.

Inspired by the Quisiana Automat in Berlin, the first automat in the U.S. was opened June 12, 1902, at 818 Chestnut St. in Philadelphia by Horn & Hardart.[1] The automat was brought to New York City in 1912 and gradually became part of popular culture in northern industrial cities. Horn & Hardart was the most prominent automat chain.

In its heyday, recipes were kept in a safe, and described how to place the food on the plate as well as how to make it. The automats were popular with a wide variety of patrons, including Walter Winchell, Irving Berlin and other celebrities of the era. The New York automats were popular with out of work songwriters and actors. Playwright Neil Simon called automats "the Maxim's of the disenfranchised" in a 1987 article.[2]

Decline
The format was threatened by the growth of suburbs and the rise of fast food restaurants catering to motorists (with their drive-thru windows) in the 1950s; by the 1970s, their remaining appeal was strictly nostalgic. Another contributing factor to their demise was undoubtedly the inflation of the 1960s and 70s, making the food too expensive to be bought conveniently with coins, in a time before bill acceptors commonly appeared on vending equipment.

At one time there were 40 Horn & Hardart automats in New York City alone. The last one closed in 1991 after the company, which was exiting the restaurant business, failed to find a buyer for it. At the time, the quality of the food was described by some customers as on the decline.[2][3]

Resurgence
A modern automat in Manhattan's East VillageIn 2006, an automat, operated by the company Bamn, opened in New York City's East Village.[4] Bamn Automat is no longer in business.

Other versions
Another form of the automat was used on some passenger trains, the last United States example being an automat car on Amtrak's short-lived Lake Country Limited service to Janesville, Wisconsin, in 2001. These were limited by mechanical problems, since the machines were not necessarily intended for the bumpy ride on the rails, and state laws that prohibited alcoholic beverages from being sold by a machine.

Netherlands
The Dutch FEBO stores provide a variety of burgers, sandwiches, and croquettes in vending machines that are back-loaded from a kitchen. Their automat is called automatiek.

New Idea, for Main Street.....

As a follow up idea to my earlier question, I would like to throw this idea out here for Main Street.

Since we are working around the idea of Progressing through the early 19 hundreds, ( or at least thats what i thought ) we should include a transportation pavilion.

Something in Main Street, that would showcase that types of transportation.
-Steam Locomotives
-Cars
-Planes
-subways
-trolleys

Basically anything used for transportation during that time period.
We would showcase these items so that visitors would be able to walk around and view it 360.

These would also be real, life size, vehicles.

I'm thinking something like a half circle, with the vehicles placed on it. Also in front of the vehicles, the information card, and how that particular vehicle was so influential to the era.

comments, feedback, greatly appreciated.

We could do a re-imagined World of Motion with your idea as the post-show.
