Is there any possibility that they will open WoL while TLS is closed? Didn't they do that while The Land was being rehabbed?

M.
WoL wasn't open while The Land was under rehab (except for maybe a few days) -- so I doubt it will be open in the near future.

Just a quick thought...

An earlier post mentioned that the dive program as well as the restaurant is supposed to stay open during this rehab, meaning that the tanks will remain not only filled, but the fish and dolphins will be in there as well. I'm assuming that would be the case with the manatee tank also...

I'm just wondering how heavy construction right outside these tanks might effect them. I'm sure I'm not the only person that got their hand smacked for "tapping on the glass" of an aquarium when I was a kid... Couldn't this be, like, the biggest "tapping on the glass" incident in history?

I'm CERTAIN they've thought of this... I'm just curious as to what they'll do.

I wondering what will happen when a shark sees a Dory hollogram and tries to take a bite. :lookaroun

TLS definetely needs this, when I was there last we really wasted time that would have been better spent around WS, it just didn't have anything special. However, post rehab (and they can do alot in 3 months), I'll be sure to make a visit!

I'm guessing they'll pipe in a tape loop repeating "FISH ARE FRIENDS! NOT FOOD!" :D Although, if they do that, they'll have to put a sound buffer between the tanks and the restaurant... :lookaroun

By the way, Grizz... I've lurked here FOREVER and just posted a few times... I guess I haven't had too much to say. :) But your posts are always appreciated and help give those of us an inside track on the goings on when we're WAY too far away.

I'm sure I'll take a beating from Thrawn for that comment, too. Thrawn, just remember. Happy, Happy, YAY YAY!!

Amen to that. Turtle Talk, I have to say is amazing already...TLS is boring in my opinion...besides, remember, we're here to make money...bottom line unfortunately...

But don't you fret. On your post-2005 trip to Epcot, Nemo will be unavoidable.

tsk... tsk... Grizz, your rhetoric is becoming unavoidable.

Why don't you smooth our your fur and wait and see what happens. I'm hoping that this rehab (with the help of Nemo) will bring new life to a tired pavilion. I find it just a little hypocritical that you get up in arms over Nemo additions, but can't get over the loss of characters at imagination.

Okay... just for you.

Nemo will be PRESENT at the pavilion. You will have no problem finding him.

Is that better diction for you?

Any idea if the Coral Reef will be open at this time? Or is it getting a makeover as well?

According to the Allearsnet.com weekly newsletter, the Coral Reef will remain open during this time.

I, personally, can handle a little bit of Nemo-I-zation of the Pavilion. What I've seen so far (Turtle Talk, meet-n-greets, and Bruce's whatever-o-rama) hasn't been too over the top. And it does bring some young kids into the pavilion that might otherwise balk. In general, it has brought some real life back into the pavilion. Hopefully, they'll keep some portions of the Sea Base Alpha theme. I do hate to hear the rumor that the hydrolators will be going. Yes, they did cause a bit of a bottleneck, but only because they dumped several hundred people onto them at once. If, as rumor holds, they reverse the entrance and exit, then there would be really no reason (and actually no plausible way) to throw everyone into a holding pen without major construction. So, why couldn't they just let anyone who walks up load immediately into a hydrolator? One good thing about the possible entrance/exit swap -- that would certainly avoid the dumping of guests right into a gift shop. I do trust Imagineering, especially after we saw the nice job the did with the Land -- updated, but still fits the theme and spirit (in my opinion).

I trust WDW/WDI a little more since the The Land re-do, but the aweful Stitch ride and the lazy new meet and greets around WDW still have me a little nervous about this rehab. I will heap tons of praise on WDW/WDI if they get this right, just like I did when I saw The Land redo. But I will also be highly critical of them (like I am of the Pooh McPlayground) if they screw this up. In the end, we still have about 5 more months to wait, and give them a chance to do their jobs.

Just wanted to update:

The Dolphins in Depth tour at the Living Seas is "on the bubble" at the moment. If at any time for any reason they feel the construction will have a negative effect on the dolphins they will take the appropriate actions. They are still currently scheduled to occur. The construction progress will be monitored by the Living Seas biological teams. If the tours are canceled, Guests who have scheduled the tour will be contacted by the tour coordinators directly.

This applies for all tours, but currently there is no expected impact on other tours.

The Imagineers do this for a living. They work for the best theme park company in the world. Granted there have been a few let downs, like Stitch and Imagination, but overall I have not been disappointed thoroughly by our Imagineers. I trust they will make this a place that people of all ages will want to visit to have fun and learn about sea life.
