grr...I was looking foward to The Living Seas on my next trip. Oh well, I'm glad we went in May (was my first time in a number of years)
Here's to a nice rehab!
Here's to a nice rehab!
I am not super worried about this one. I think Nemo and friends is a great vehicle to bring children and familes in to the attraction and provide a good way to engage people in a way that is culturaly relivant in today's market. They can still show all the same information about the world's oceans and the research and conservation programs that Disney and it's partners are involved in. They will just use new characters and surroundings that young children can relate to.Pumbas Nakasak said:Why is it that I experience worry with the announcement of every rehab? Please keep Epcot, Epcot! No need to kiddy pander in every attraction in every park and no need to talk down or play stupid to the kids either.
Aas someone said, it could go either way. Can but hope

mousermerf said:Which DiveQuest? The 5:30? If so, make them a ressie at the Coral Reef restaurant.
Probably not worth doing a dive tour JUST to see inside on that date. They will have just started cleaing the place out. If you were going in October then it would totally be worth it just for the sneak peak.PhilharMagician said:Well I have a reservation for Divequest on Aug 26. No clue about the VIP lounge. I'd assume it would be untouched. It's *VERY* nice, and you're one LUCKY sea friend to have it up there!ddank said:Grizz- any idea if the living seas salon (the VIP level) is getting a rehab? I have my wedding reception there next July!
My feelings on the rehab are: its long overdue, love the nemo (as long as its done tastefully), love the idea of reworking the preshow and the cab rides. I just pray they keep the living seas theme music. The background music loops for these pavilions are what make it EPCOT for me.
Pssst... no real blame should be put on the Imagineers. Point your nose to those in charge of the Imagineers and above, and direct it to them. Imagineers are being laid off left and right and they, well, don't have as much freedom as they used to.imagineer boy said:Am I the only one who's opposed to this rehab? Firstly, if Nemo took over it would destroy the whole concept of the living seas, and make it a good excuse for a meet n' greet. Second, a whole pavillion devoted to cartoon characters would not fit right in Future World. It will just screw things up even more. Imagineers, you're great, but what you are doing here is a mistake. Personally, I think they just should have kept only one exibit with nemo, that would've been fine, but I've always like the whole sea base alpha theme. Not to mention that I've always liked the hydrolaters. They could atleast make them bigger for higher capacity.
