Living Seas: Is It Ever Gonna Get A New Ride?

Ok, I remember hearing that Living Seas is no longer sponsored from the outside, does this mean that Disney is going to try to redo the ride or no? Personally I feel that it needs a major overhaul. The cheesiness of the elevator plunging below the sea is too much, though I do enjoy the moving aquarium part. I think that it needs a whole new movie and everything. If this is already happening, thank G-d! If not it needs to soon.

That is my favorite thing in Epcot (I like the Ocean, can you tell?).

It needs some work and I hope it gets some money into it soon.

I'd say Living Seas needs a complete overhaul. Right now, it's an incredibly dull attraction, something on par with the aquarium at a state zoo and much less interesting than anything over at Sea World. I went to Living Seas on my last visit and walked out adding it to my mental checklist of "things to avoid on my next trip" because there's really very little of interest there.

Appearantly none of you seem to care for anything beyond the "next neat thrill" you ever get. LS is perhaps one of the most tranquil rides at WDW. If you have major problems with it, I suggest you trade your annual passports for tickets to Universal.

Anyhow, it does need some major work--even a fresh coat of paint would suffice.

...that's quite an analysis based on this one thread...

...your criticism of other people's honest opinions is blatantly immature.
...you're entitled to your opinion but not at the expense of trying to make fools out of those who don't share it.

...don't make assumptions about people you know nothing about.

excuse me for a moment-
im not one for thrill rides. Im scared to go Big Thunder Mountain. All I think is that some rides hafta go to make room for new ones. I think it was a bad mistake to get rid of Mr Toad, so why not get rid The Living Seas which a majority of people dont care for and make a new generation of guests happy. Im one for tranquil rides, but this one has seen its day

Living seas is better as a walk thru..no new ride needed..that simple..

I could care less about the "next thrill ride"...i would just as soon see ANYTHING new open rather than another thrill in epcot..

So i guess you were wrong.....

I doubt they will ever get rid of Living Seas, only because of all the animals that live there. Unless they open up a Marine Land in Animal Kingdom, expect the Living Seas to stick around.

aHEM!

What is EPCOT? A place to ride rides? Or to learn something?

It is really both, and Living Seas is another ride like Horizons that is trying to teach when people want thrills.

I agree whole heartedly that The Living Seas needs a new ride. The walk through Seas part is ok, and it's nice to have time to look at all the creatures, but the ride portion could be a really great if some time and work went into it. But then again, Disney probably has a lot more important things on their mind right now with Mission:Space and the Imagination rehab underway.

OK people calm down! The purpose of this thread was to ask if they were installing a new ride anytime soon, because the old one is, well old, and from what I've read, gone. I did not say it need a thrill ride of any sort. I said it needs an overhaul. Though I am partial to thrill rides, I think that the place needs to be updated, like how the Universe of Energy was updated; new movie revamped ride. The educational part is a must but the message needs to be updated and reinforced. I just want to know if there is anything in the works to update this original, and never updated, Epcot pavillion.

I love the Living seas, I could easily spend an entire day in that attraction alone. I think thats part of what EPCOT is all about. If I want thrills i go to the other parks.

Well I don't have that problem cause i only get to WDW every 2 years, and i only get to spend about 45 mins in the Living seas. I'm really interested by that sort of stuff though (I am studying biology) and i think it would be a tradjedy if disney got rid of it, there's nothing else like it in WDW.

The living seas

Hi!
i agree that Epcot needs to do ak major overhaul of the ride, I suppose that the movie and the aquarium are interesting and it isnice for some things to stay the same ( I wish teekey birds would have)
BUT the elevator ride is unbelievable, is it really necessary to cram 50 people into a space that small. :hurl:
It is hot enought in florida, we dont need to be pushed up against 49 other sweating poeple!

just my opinion

...now THAT"S funny...and very true....gotta snuggle up next to someone who used deodorant...

...so, I've always been under the impression that the elevators don't truly go up or down, just an illusion, when in reality you go into the elevator on one side and walk out the other....

...is this news to anyone else, or just me?..or am i wrong about this?
