I think Disney recognized a good while back how lame Epcot really was. Don't get me wrong I'll take back some of the old rides any day like Horizons and Journey Into Imagination, but when Disney noticed the changes in theme park entertainment they realized a park like Epcot couldn't compete. With the opening of Islands of Adventure where there are more rides geared towards the younger generation who have become incredibly interested lately in the extreme. Skateboarding, snowboarding, biking, etc all that extreme sports closely relates to many of the thrill rides, it all focuses on an adrenaline rush. There was NO adrenaline rush at Epcot until the opening of Test Track which has proved this point. TT is one of the most popular attractions not just in Epcot but in all of WDW. Disney hopefully understands where this industry is heading and is hopefully making the correct changes to the attractions but still holding true to their purpose. The new Epcot rides should include both excitement and knowledge, when guests leave the attractions they will be ready to ride again and hopefully have learned something from the experience. Both the Land and the Living Seas are somewhat of a bore, and hopefully with some improvements will prove to be more thrilling.
